From when they are all available together, of course.

Based on the iTunes chart - as that's the only means we'll have to tell.

Given the number of people who know Kylie, compared to those who know Travie, I find your scenario a little unlikely - unless her fans decide to make a stand against her jumping on the urban collaboration bandwagon?

I like them all.. I prefer the Travie version tbh.. The Kylie version is okay.. I downloaded both, but I think the Travie version will get much 'Higher' (if you'll pardon the pun) than Kylie's or Taio's solo version :)

How I think it'll pan out!

Taio solo obvz starting out ahead. Frontloaded Kylie with a better start than Travie.

Kylie overtakes solo. Travie behind but in the top 100.

Then it depends if the casual buyers do what they do most of time (hence radio versions don't always overtake Album versions) and keep Kylie at top...or of Taio or Travies version will climb up due to exposure. I think it could be a very close call. Purely because Kylie will have the edge of fanbase buying putting Higher (;)) it'll probably end up selling the best as the casual buyers will just scroll down and pick the first one!

I'm sorry but the Kylie & Taio version is not URBAN. It's as camp and cheesy as pop/dance gets. From what I understand TV are playing the K/T video but those channels are hardly a massive deciding factor. Personally, I think it'll be Kylie as she will have probably have her usual fanbase on top of casual buyers. Travie's version will still sell well though if it's getting radio play. Such a shame he adds nothing to the song, the dirty scroat. But then again, it's a pretty lame song whoever sings on it.

I agree. Unfortunately Kylie's version isn't getting too much promotion (I have heard it on the radio a few times, but for everytime I hear the Kylie version somewhere, I hear the Travie version like 8 times or something). Kylie, however, has a much larger fanbase than Travie.

I think it could be a similar situation to the explicit and clean versions of Forget You. The explicit version sells higher initially, but the clean version sells more in the end, due to it being the version that's getting 98% of the promotion.

The only way I can see the solo version selling a lot is if it gets top 10 on iTunes soon. Then people might just see "Taio Cruz" and "Higher", and buy the song, if you know what I mean.

Also, I think it's quite telling that there's a "fake" version of the Kylie version in the top 300, especially when, in this case, there's a similar non-Kylie version they could be buying.

But also, are we sure the Travie version is getting released?

I think the Kylie version will do better. Kylie is adored here, and her version is far superior to Travie's IMO.
Travie version will get higher simply because it's being promoted a lot more. I've not heard the Kylie version at all on radio, however it is getting a bit of airplay on music channels

I understood the Kylie version was being played on Radio 2, which, given the nature of their audience, is not at all surprising.

BTW, on that subject, here you can see who the various BBC radio stations are mainly aimed at :

ISTM then, if you're 30-34, then both R1 & R2 aren't interested in you. :P

To be honest, I would've thought Radio 1 would be more like 10-24 year-olds, rather than 15-29. I dunno, I just can't imagine even 29 year-olds wanting to listen to songs like Pass Out and Traktor all day.

OTOH, I can't imagine parents of 10 yo's wanting them to listen to listen to rap, period.

Well that's too bad, because they do. :P

lol. Why wouldn't parents want their 10 year-olds listening to rap? Rapping is just someone speaking rhyming lyrics over some music. A bit like reciting Shakespeare with some piano in the background. :)

He's probably referring to the generally sweary contents of rap music.

But that's stupid, everyone knows ten year olds swear these days, it's stupid to try and prevent them from doing it.

I dunno. When I was that age, I remember whenever someone found out a new swear word, they'd use it all the time just because they thought it was cool, and wanted to prove how "grown-up" they are to their friends.

It is so ironic though. How like adults use great measures to prevent kids from hearing swear words, and kids go to great measures to prevent adults from hearing them swearing.

Maybe by age 10 most kids know when not to swear, but some even younger kids might not know when it's appropriate. They just tend to hear a new word, and then use it all the time, and end up just being really offensive, even though they don't intend to be.

Also, reminds me of when I first started senior school, people noticed that I was really innocent, and that I never swore, so my friends used to tell me swear words, but tell me wrong definitions of them, then I'd use the swear words out of context and everybody would laugh at me. So many embarrassing experiences! :drama: It's funny looking back though. I'm just glad I never "swore" infront of my parents! :o

But they would play the radio edit, so they're not going to have any swearing, so that kind of defeats that point and Travie's rap doesn't have an swearing in anyway.

TV and Radio would be the main way 10 year-olds access music, so they're not go online to search for an 'explicit' version, one of my friends wasn't even aware that 'Forget You' was only a radio edit of 'F**k You!' so it's near impossible to 'stumble' across it. I think I was first aware of swearing at around 9-ish? By the age of 10 you would have probably realised not to swear in-front of parents/adults.

Why are you so 'anti-rap', you dismiss it before you try and like it.

Taio/Travie version I think
