Posted February 7, 201115 yr Chipmunk heading for second UK number one 11:58 | Tuesday February 8, 2011 By Paul Williams Source: MW Singles Chipmunk is heading for his second UK chart-topping single as Adele looks set for a third consecutive week at the top of the artist albums chart. The homegrown urban artist’s newly-issued Jive/Columbia single Champion, which features Chris Brown, has opened up a lead of around 6,000 sales over Price Tag by Jessie J featuring BoB, according to OCC data. J’s Island/Lava single debuted at number one last Sunday having become part of the so-called on air/on sale revolution in which tracks are released commercially almost as soon as radio stations start playing them. Both Jessie J and Chris Brown could end up having two singles in this coming Sunday’s new chart, with Price Tag’s predecessor Do It Like A Dude the 10th biggest seller for the week so far, while Brown’s RCA offering Yeah 3X is ranked seventh having sat in ninth place on last Sunday’s chart. Three places outside the Top 10 positions at present, Def Jam/Mercury act Rihanna’s S&M is enjoying a 280% week-on-week uplift in sales after making it to 20th place on last Sunday’s chart. Cash Money/Island release Moment 4 Life by Nicki Minaj featuring Drake is also experiencing a significant uplift in sales, with its 155% lift likely to move it into the Top 40 this coming Sunday. Below Chipmunk, there are no other brand new entries in the Top 20 at present, although several are lining up a few places below. They are led by RCA’s Stuttering by Loick Essien featuring N-Dubz and also include singles by AEI/AATW’s Modestep, 360’s Lethal Bizzle (featuring Grime All) and Ministry of Sound’s Eric Prydz. Albums XL act Adele has now surpassed 350,000 UK sales of her second album 21, which on its third week of release is currently outselling its three closest rivals combined. Nearest to it is Elektra/Atlantic act Bruno Mars’ Doo-Wops & Hooligans, while Mercury’s Chase & Status are ranked third with No More Idols. The first of the five leading artists on the BBC Sound of 2011 poll to have his debut album released is looking likely to land an instant Top 10 album this weekend. Runner-up to Jessie J on the poll, A&M/Atlas’s James Blake has the sixth best-selling album of the week so far with his self-titled debut, which is just a few sales behind 679/Atlantic act The Streets’ brand new album Computers And Blues in fifth place. Def Jam/Mercury’s Rihanna is fourth with Loud. The Glee Cast are heading for their eighth UK Top 40 album in just 12 months with the Epic-released The Rocky Horror Glee Show currently showing as a new entry at 13. Other acts expected to land new albums in the Top 40 include Verve Forecast/Decca’s Teddy Thompson and Absentee Recordings’ Boxer Rebellion. Meanwhile, in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day, a number of love-themed albums are picking up the sales pace, including the Rhino-issued Love Songs by Roberta Flack (up 46% on the week) and a UB40 Virgin album also called Love Songs (up 527%). On compilations five of the week’s seven top sellers so far have love themes, led by the All Around The World/EMI TV/UMTV set Love 2 Club 2011 at number one. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Top 40 Only Singles 1 Chipmunk ft. [02] This is a mid thread for every artist do not go on and on and on about a certain artist to bring the board into disrepute. [03] Please be patient when you are asking for a request, as you might not get an answer straight away. [04] Any member asking for information that isn't in the updates we don't have, always read the topic before you post, I do not want to see questions like Where is Britney? repeated several times on every page of the thread, once is enough, bookmark the page if you don't have time to read all of the topic. Its not that hard. [05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude. [06] Do not use Text Talk. [07] Do not use a light colour font when posting please its hard to read the topic, not everyone has 100% vision. [08] Please give a mention to who posted the chart info or the site name where you seen the mid info if you are copying and posting the chart info elsewhere, it takes forever trying to re-edit all the information up for you to see. [09] Please do not post lists, or sales info unless you are told to by myself or a chart mod, if you do have sales info that you wish to share round them off to the nearest thousand and name your source, do not post precise sales figures. [10] Regarding chart postions when posted when you see a sum/substraction for example 22+4, 40-7, if you add/subtract both figures together it gives you the actual position for the track. Its just simple addition or substraction. Go Figure.

February 8, 201115 yr I actually really like this new Chipmunk song. Would rather Jessie J got another week at the top though.
February 8, 201115 yr Author ugh... Chipmunk #1, oh well, another new #1 next week from Lady GaGa, hope she stay at #1 for a few weeks, I'm really hoping for acts to stay longer at #1 with the new On Air/On Sale system. Nice to see Fleetwood Mac back in the album chart. No Gary Moore albums in the chart though :(
February 8, 201115 yr Anyone know where Same Difference's new album is? Hope it can at least make the Top 75. Edited February 8, 201115 yr by Rob
