Over the last year or so, Glee have released some classic songs, some mash ups, some straight covers. Either way do you think they ruin the originals or give them a refreshing sound??

 

Also, what is your least favourite song that Glee have covered?

Some they ruin, most they re-fresh. My favourite covers have to be Hate On Me, The Boy Is Mine and The Only Exception.

Well I went for refreshing obviously.

 

I've never quite understood why 'chart people' get quite so annoyed at the Glee records charting, looking at Wikipedia, of the dozens of songs relesead only 19 have made the top 40, the majority of these only making brief one week appearances in the low 30's. And nothing from season 2 has really made that much of a huge impact either.

I enjoy the 'Toxic' type performances more than anything where the performances arent just straight out covers personally.

I'm with Aled completely! Especially the part about the proper "Glee club covers" as opposed to straight out karake copy sorta stuff. The 'Toxic'/'Teenage Dream'/'Hey Soul Sister'/'Don't Stop Believin'' type covers are their best.

I can't really vote in the poll, because I think they ruin some, but refresh others.

 

The ones that annoy me the most are the ones that sound practically the same as the originals. The ones where they do mash-ups, or change the arrangements can be pretty good.

Have to say, i'm not too impressed with this series as much as I am on the last one..music wise and just the episodes wise (like the rocky horror ep i found so boring and none of the songs were good), but i think its great, i like their takes on songs, Lea is just :wub:

I think they have a few good songs coming up, but so far prefer the first series by far.

Depends what song really! For something like 'Run Joey Run' it was definitely refreshing so I voted that

some their not so good with, others they are :wub:

I say refreshing and as long as the negative side stays reasonably constructive then it shall stay open. ^_^

Should have had an option for bit of both as they refresh and ruin the songs.

They either ruin them or they sound exactly the same as the original (Telephone being an example). Mostly they just ruin them, though.
