February 13, 201115 yr It says on the official charts twitter less than 5% sales difference between the top 2
February 13, 201115 yr Congrats to Jessie and well done to Chipmunk and Chris Brown, it may not of got number 1 but it still did well to sale over 90k, they shouldn't be too disheartened by that. I wonder how much Jessie sold this week?? :o Edited February 13, 201115 yr by yeahyeah
February 13, 201115 yr Price Tag is a great #1. Everything in the song is amazing. I prefer it to DILAD now.
February 13, 201115 yr  Don't generalise. We make it clear every week there are no spoilers here - what does that have to do with being grown up?! But I felt like a witch being burned at the Salem Trials. I didn't intend to spoil nor post its position, just an innocent harmless post on sales.
February 13, 201115 yr Woah :o Never thought Jessie J would be sticking at #01, so much for GaGa being the shock! Very pleased it held off such a mediocre song though!
February 13, 201115 yr It says on the official charts twitter less than 5% sales difference between the top 2 Then Jessie should have sold about 94 or 95k then I am guessing, fantastic.
February 13, 201115 yr I could suggest several other badges too! :D Anyways, I'm really happy that Jessie J got a second week at no. 1 (sorry Eric Blob :P ) but 'Price Tag' was always going to be a bigger hit than 'Champion' could even dream of being. Jessie J will also benefit from The Brit Awards and then there's the album release coming soon so 'PT' isn't going anywhere for ages.
February 13, 201115 yr Author But I felt like a witch being burned at the Salem Trials. I didn't intend to spoil nor post its position, just an innocent harmless post on sales. Sales posted right before the song is announced can then lead onto what is going to be above it - all we want is to not have the chart spoiled before it is announced by radio 1 - thats all!!! :manson:
February 13, 201115 yr Then Jessie should have sold about 94 or 95k then I am guessing, fantastic. I think she's somewhere 95-96k (gagadaily posted the gap between BTW and PT)! Congratulations Jessie J! Amazing number 1
February 13, 201115 yr I wouldnt say posting sales is a big spoiler. 61k could mean #1 or #5 and if you can "guess" based on that by looking at the midweeks surely you're "spoiling" it every week by reading midweeks? You've listened to the whole top 40 knowing where pretty much every song should end up because there's a daily update But that was the point in everyone being excited about Lady Gaga was because she didnt show up in any of the midweeks -_-
February 13, 201115 yr Wow :o And Jessie increased sales! Very pleased that this isn't #1, I loved Oopsy Daisy and was happy to see that at the top but I have no opinion on this song really... hopefully this will produce a change in uk record companies marketing and they follow us artists by releasing with the on air/on sale rules with a video included - just shows you can get a good chart position and not lose as many sales through illegal dloads!! :D
February 13, 201115 yr But I felt like a witch being burned at the Salem Trials. I didn't intend to spoil nor post its position, just an innocent harmless post on sales. What when we have already had one quite important spoiler, you ruined the top of the chart for many people
February 13, 201115 yr Thanks to Jester. Ben, and all the others on another great chart forum it is good to have a place where you can talk about the chart. but without giving out sale figures before the chart has been annouanced. Again Jester. Sorry for posting what the chart was.
February 13, 201115 yr But that was the point in everyone being excited about Lady Gaga was because she didnt show up in any of the midweeks -_- So whats the excuse for the other 51 weeks of the year? And im sure based on the 50-odd page iTunes thread anyone here wasn't naive enough to not know where GaGa would end up
February 13, 201115 yr Author Thanks to Jester. Ben, and all the others on another great chart forum it is good to have a place where you can talk about the chart. but without giving out sale figures before the chart has been annouanced. Again Jester. Sorry for posting what the chart was. No problems - hope you pop along again next week! (I don't think it will be as exciting though??)
February 13, 201115 yr Well done to jester anyway for such a great chart ruined by a few individuals who really need to look at themselves
February 13, 201115 yr Author So whats the excuse for the other 51 weeks of the year? And im sure based on the 50-odd page iTunes thread anyone here wasn't naive enough to not know where GaGa would end up Some people choose to not look at midweeks - and thats up to them. We have a policy of not revealing the chart before R1 here and we do our best to stick to it - plus, the midweeks aren't always the same as the chart on Sunday. Simples.
