Has J-Los new song been released on UK itunes yet?

I've never understood why some people get so angry when a song they like gets sampled? I'm overjoyed when a song I love gets sampled, tbh.

 

Because a lot of the time these artists are lazily using something from other people's work to be the only interesting thing about their mess of a song.

 

It's not always the case though, but a lot of the time it is, especially recently. I'm not speaking of this particular example as I've yet to hear it...

It depends on how badly the sample has been butchered. For eg; 'Kids' by MGMT is excellent. 'The Opposite Of Adults' by Chiddy Bang is rubbish.

 

A lot of Puff Daddy tracks from the 90s used to irritate me. Sample a well known song (usually by a British artist - see David Bowie, The Police, etc...) then slow it down quite a bit and rap over the top of it. :manson: About as genius as a fart. :(

Oh and isn't this the 4th run at #1 on iTunes for Price Tag? It had its initial run then it got overtaken by Champion, then it went back to #1, then it was overtaken by Born This Way, then it went back to #1, then it was overtaken by Someone Like You, now it's back at #1 yet again.

It seems like people can't get enough of it still, I actually started to really love it the more I hear it, a couple of weeks ago I thought it was just alright, I'm not sure if I want it to return back to#1 now though, I thought it was a shame it stopped Champion from going to #1, I would of liked that to got a week then Price Tag to return bk or Adele, I'm not bothered about Lady Gaga getting to #1 with BTW as it's not her best release.

Opposite of Adults and Check It Out are both incredible songs imo. I really, really love them tbh. I don't think the sampling in them is cheap, tacky, or whatever at all. Yes, they're extremely obvious samples, but I don't think they're intending to disguise the fact that they're sampling in the first place.

 

The only issue with sampling for me is that sometimes it takes a lot of getting used to. If you know a song really well, and then it gets sampled, you're still thinking of the original song when you hear the sample, so it can be very strange at first. But those songs nearly always grow on me in the end. :)

Definitely NOT deserved! :drama: Really hope 'Words I Never Said' with Skylar Grey is big when/if it's released here. It deserves to be!

They are, I do love 'Check It Out' but it is pretty much the prime definition of tacky and I consider it one of my ultimate guilty pleasures. As for that butchering of MGMT we're mentioning, just urgh! :puke2:
