as good as britney's song is and i wish it was higher, i always feel a little bit glad in cases like this where it's not promoted in the slightest. it's the same with gaga whose fans presumed that it would go straight to #1 everywhere because it was her first single off a new album and because of all the buzz and hype and i'm kinda glad that it didn't. because it's not like people don't like britney or don't want to buy her song because just look how successful she was pre-breakdown and that's because she promoted almost every single here and put some effort in. she's not done 1 performance or interview (only one on the radio and one in a magazine that i know of and that's just in american anyway) so her management or fans can't really be surprised that it's not doing that well because no one even knows it's out other than her megafans. it just comes across as lazy and like she's not even that bothered to me.

Brilliant for Ellie. Should give Bad Romance and Poker Face a boost too :cheer:.

Nice to see The Corrs - Runaway at 59p and #249 and quickly climbing :cheer: Now there's a band long overdue a return to the top 200!

 

I'm not sure that Cotton Eye Joe will be such a welcome return though :lol: Poor Duffy down to 59p with Mercy and the once monster of a song is one of the 20 least popular songs out of the reduced 119 - poor girl really can't catch a break recently can she :o

 

Oh, and possibly my favourite comeback (just for laughs, not because it's anything resembling a good song) is Britney's cover of I Love Rock 'N' Roll at #280 :lol:

more 59p songs! :o it would be great to hear Snow Patrol or Wheatus on the charts, but the novelty wears off eventually- still, should improve Chasing Cars' chart run :D

Oh and all these 59p songs being promoted on the front page and climbing the charts pretty quickly, is surely a suggestion to iTunes/record labels that the public prefer songs that are cheap! Just imagine if a new song like 'Hold It Against Me' (FOR EXAMPLE LOL) was promoted in the same tab on iTunes and was 59pence instead of 99p! I think we'd be seeing a different story to what we are doing now...
