Yeah, it's a good point that sales where high at that point. It's just that I don't really remember everything from back then. I remember loving the song, and it being popular, but I would've thought to get such high sales there would've had to be some controversy around it, or it would've had to become some sort of cultural joke, or I don't know.

Like the recent massive-sellers, Fight For This Love, Just the Way You Are, Love the Way You Lie, Poker Face, When We Collide, etc. I can explain those. They're not just good songs, but they have, I dunno, like that "special thing" about them. Like Cheryl Cole was probably the most adored person in the UK at the time, Just the Way You Are made teenage girls cry every time they heard it, When We Collide was an X Factor winners single, Poker Face was during that Lady Gaga explosion, and was full of innuendo which everybody found amusing, and so on.

But I can't really remember what cultural impact the song had. Was there any lines from it which everybody got obsessed with or something?

Yes, its damn catchy - plus it spread like the measles everywhere at the time and before it was released and it was in the top 5 for ages. It has a great hook (the Rikrok bit) plus a catchphrase!

I think Reach is remembered more. But yes, both amazing songs - I love "Sky" as well. Now that's a tune

Yeah! I think Don't Stop Movin' is better known for S Club though!

Opinions btw, everyone, on adding a 15 years ago for the retro?

What is Sonique up to these days?!

She had cancer last year but is on the road to recovery.

Oooooh do do it! :cheer: 1996 would be the year wouldn't it?

Hopefully Britney sneaked in with 'Till The World Ends'. Deserves to be a bigger hit than HIAM.

Yep, will start next week then! We need a bit of 90s

She'll be lucky to go top 75, IIRC Boys And Girls did about the same as what TTWE is doing after a Friday release and she entered at #73.

Agreed actually, much better song. But I'm not sure if it will chart today or not.

Same!

Looking forward to the charts today, hope Foos haven't dropped too much from the mids :(

:ne: 4 (Breakage, Foo Fighters, Jessie J - WYA, The Hype Squad)

I missed the beginning. Did he confirm those are the new entries (like did he do that thing where he plays clips of the songs?).
