I'm sorry, but no she didn't. She hit the notes perfectly fine. You may not have liked how she hit them, but she still hit them. I don't understand what you're talking about.

She may not be a technically bad singer but she sounds absolutely DREADFUL in the chorus of WYA IMO. She sounds fine in the verses and she sounds fine on 'Price Tag', but the chorus of WYA is actually painful to listen to.

There's a difference between not liking her vocal tone and saying she's a bad singer. Because she's not a bad singer.

What makes her a good singer? The vocal performance is barely acceptable on this (admittedly quite decent) song. But the X Factor live version of this was literally unbearable.

Yep it's your opinion but i think you are just a lil over the top

Yes i've seen! She may not be in the same leak as Beyonce or Adele but she's no way bad singer!

Well she doesn't make me leak :kink:

The problem i have with Jessie J's live performances is that she just seems to try TOO hard. And goes entirely over the top to the extent where I just can't listen

THIS!

her performance last night on lets dance for comic relief was so try hard, especially the 'tired' fitted in with a yawn  and Who You Are's vocals are too screechy imo

Wow, another week for HIAM. It had some staying power then, even if it has dropped massively

Just a question are the Smith's the first father-son-daughter top have top 40 hits. By the Smith's I mean Will, Willow and Jaden.

Father-son-daughter-mother, actually.

Jada Pinkett-Smith was featured on Will's "1000 Kisses" single!

That's my exact opinion of Christina Aguilera, tbh.

IMO.

Precisely.

What makes her a good singer?

She has a very good vocal range, she has strong vocal stamina, she has control and she has technique. You may not like her tone or technique, but by saying she's a bad singer, you're incorrect.

Shame this never took off, it's actually quite decent. Really hoping TTWE does better, it's catchier and just generally amazing imo.

Anyone who says Jessie can't sing need their ear tested, seriously. She has possibly the best voice out there at the moment. Just listen to the note around 3:10:

Also, her live lounge was outstanding.

I can't be bothered watching that, but, unless she changes it up massively for live performances, her vocal performance on Do It Like A Dude wouldn't be an indicator of anything - that isn't a vocally-challenging song in the slightest (nor is Price Tag, for that matter).

7 weeks top 40 is fairly standard for a #6 hit.

Last year's #6 hits:

We Dance On 8 weeks

Bang Bang Bang 8 weeks

Won't Go Quietly 6 weeks

Hot 9 weeks

One Shot 13 weeks

Ambitions 3 weeks

Don't Stop Believin' 21 weeks

Carry Out 10 weeks

Dirty Picture 9 weeks

Party Girl 3 weeks

Reggie's 'Hype Squad remix' of What The Hell
