If you can't tell, it goes Nicole - Adele - The Wanted - Jessie.

  • Adele is 71.33% of Nicole
  • The Wanted are 99.53% of Adele (71% of Nicole)
  • Jessie J is 77.93% of The Wanted (77.6% of Adele, 55.33% of Nicole)

2 things:-

1. where the f**k is this club, coz I wanna go  :)

2. Who is that hot bird in your sig. Is it Selena Gomez?

Yup, I thought you meant Scream the movies. Now I feel silly

I think the girl in his sig is Rebecca Black. There's a thread about her in the pop forum.

And lmao at the Scream mix-up!

Although, to be fair, I don't think Timbaland would look out of place in a horror movie.

Praying Nicole can hold it up all week. DHYB is amazing  Gold Forever is blah.

Nicole's lead has increased a little bit, Wanted have pulled ahead of Adele with combined.

I don't think Adele Will Get Number 1 this week.

Also, i know i'm coming across as a massive nicole fan with all this defending I have done.. i just feel she deserves a UK number 1 To Stop the "flop" label, even though getting a #03 peak which is away to go onto 200k should be getting rid of that.

Now she will have the "X Factor" label :kink:

How? 'Don't Hold Your Breath' has got to number 1 on iTunes WITHOUT being performed on XFactor. It got there faster than 'Poison' did (which didn't get number 1 until just before (or just after) the X Factor performance) iirc. And it's not exactly a quiet period for singles sales at the moment either. So I don't get the whole "X Factor" labelling :(

Oh and Nicole won't be number 1 :(. Are we forgetting The Wanted's physicals? Charity physicals DO mean something and can make a difference.

Also; KEEP CLIMBING PARADE! :D

Who is Parade?

Surprising week! I thought that only Top 10 entries would be GF and DHYB, and that Adele or TW would be number 1! Totally wrong i guess :P

We will have to wait and see until Tuesday, we should get an update on how far Nicole is behind/ahead if anything less than 3k Nicole will secure number one providing she keeps up her momentum! Heck who knows Nicole might get two weeks at number one! Lets be realistic.. who's going to drop more next week Nicole or Wanted.

Yeah physicals are at an all time low and didin't exactly save the saturdays did it? Saturdays actually had a better pop bar than the wanted and got less than 60k sales...

The pop bar doesn't have anything to do with the sales... If I was good with words I would explain what I mean, but I'm not so I'm not even going to try! The sales are completely different now to what they were 2 years ago... so it's a lot stronger/harder and the sales are generally bigger.

The X Factor has significantly risen her profile in the UK. She wasn't really that popular before people got to know her through her month on the X Factor replacing Cheryl.

It's no wonder that she's doing nothing in the US and very little in Europe at the moment, while she's pretty big in the UK now.

Why did The Saturday's not have a CR performance that year?

they did perform it- but not in the week they released it- I probably should have made that clearer :P

the song was released on March 2nd, Comic Relief was broadcast on March 13th- the unofficial release (Islands In The Stream) was released on the Monday of that week, so they got a special boost on Friday (not that they needed it) and by that time it was too late for the Saturdays

thats why the Wanted have more of a chance, that said if Nicole keeps increasing and gets around 40-50% of them, then she could still do it

oh and Parade 8! :o and there was me thinking the girl band was a dying breed! :o

I know what you mean Jonjo.

Lee – you can’t compare TW’s pop bar size against The Saturday’s pop bar size and deduce that TW will get less than 60k sales, for the following reasons:-

1. Nothwithstanding points 2 and 3 below, and as Jonjo says, the sales climate 2 years ago was not as healthy as the sales climate today, therefore a 100% pop bar now would sell more than a 100% pop bar 2 years ago (and by a significant margin, I would estimate approx 40-50%).

2. The pop bars are relative measures against how well other songs are selling, not an absolute measure. What that means is that if e.g. the #2 is selling 50k a week and the #1 pop bar is double the #2 pop bar for the whole week, then the #1 would sell 100k. However, if the #2 was selling 30k, then the same pop bar for the #1 would only result in 60k sales. Therefore, whilst The Saturdays managed “only” 60k despite having the #1 pop bar for most of the week, they were beating a #2 pop bar which was selling 55k. However, TW are already beating that as they’re ahead of a #3 pop bar which last week sold 95k and this week will probably sell 75-80k if its pop bar relativity stayed at the same level all week.

3. iTunes commands a different share of the market now than it did in 2009.

Also Nicole Scherzinger is number 2 on Amazon and The Wanted are 7 not that it makes a massive difference

We will just have to wait until tommorow before finding out if Nicole has a chance as i'm sure the sales will leak.

Whilst it'd be good for Nicole to be number 1. I'm just pleased this song is doing brilliantly and should look to stick around for a while as most people were saying that she wouldn't do this well as this was a second single from her. Plus even if she's 2 by Sunday (or 3) she'll at least not peak lower than Poison which I feel DHYB is far superior too
