That's not what I meant - it's a cover of a song by Bon Iver. I'm sure people know that but it still irks me a bit when people refer to it as 'that Birdy song' when it's not even her song

Oh my bad. I thought you we're talking about "The Birdy Song" or whatever it is, you know with all those stupid dance moves!

"K E Dollar Sign H A"

He totally watched US Glee last week... methinks the lady doth protest too much :kink:

 It reminded me of the music video to Blow actually, where that man calls her "Ke-dollar sign-ha". That floored me.

You mean the song that isn't a Birdy song?

So how do we refer to things these days? I'm old enough to still refer to things as a "record" - a few posts ago I started typing "the Black Eyed Peas record" before I realise there probably wont be a record, tape or CD of it around, just a digitial download. So do we talk about "Birdy's digital download", "Birdy's mp3" or isn't just simpler to use "Birdy's song" even if she didn't write it/record it first?

'Birdy's version of that song'. It takes a bit more effort to type but it's more accurate I guess? :P

Yeah I think she will be #21! Well not a big drop from Friday then!

I personally just say "*artist*'s song".

Even with original songs, some of them aren't written by the credited artists. But there's not a single person on the planet who doesn't know that Glee Cast, Make You Feel My Love, Your Song, etc. are covers of older songs.

COMING HOME!!!!!

And what exactly did that have to do with the chart? I thought they did all the kids birthday shout outs on Cbeebies...

And even that's more entertaining than the crappy chart one.

You can find loads of them on the net, just search for her real name Holly Brooke
