Plan B now at #2 and #3 (deluxe version overtaken regular) :D I should think he'll take the official #1 with quite a big lead - he's obviously not going to overtake Now! 82 on iTunes though. The Gaslight Anthem will probably go top 10, not sure they have a big enough fanbase to get to #2 even on the ~15k that'd require, it's possible though. Joss Stone, Passion Pit and Jennifer Lopez should all go at least top 40, Purity Ring should be somewhere in the top 100.

"American Slang" sold 12,448 in its first week so I'd be pleasantly surprised if "Handwritten" did over 10k - although it has had a far more prominent single to lead it.

I should think they'll have no trouble matching that with increasing fanbase cancelling out the decrease in overall album sales, I didn't know American Slang sold that much in its first week. I'm sure they should be top 5 at least a la The Horrors and The Maccabees with their 3rd albums.

I wonder what Plan B will sell? Probably not as much The Defamation Of Strickland Banks did first week (68.2k) but he'll easily have the highest #1 sales since the second week of 'Sing' (75.5k) at least (and the highest debut sales for a #1 since at least Keane's 47.8k).

I'm thinking somewhere between 40k-50k, although I fear it will be just over 30k (although even that is much better than the number one sales from the past two weeks!)

Suprised Plan B is doing so well considering it's a (very uncommercial) soundtrack album with no hit single, really.

   I am so excited to see how this does on release week, I'd be so happy if it went top 40 as it's my favourite song released that week. Also great to see Wiley beating Calvin on pre-orders, to keep Calvin's run of #2 singles as a lead artist :P

That is true, Calvin has left it too late. I think the hot weather we are getting at the moment will definitely give "Heatwave" a nice sales boost. :P Had Wiley and Calvin been released 2 weeks ago Calvin would've beaten him. It's about time Wiley had his first #1 as a leading artist, "Wearing My Rolex" really deserved it but sadly Madonna and JT's 4th week at #1 stopped him :(

If I hadn't heard this and found out it was a dance song instead of the landfill indie I was expecting from the artist name and title, your reaction to it would have told me as much  Really good song though, I'd love it to be a hit.

Beginning to think Wiley has the #1 in the bag - I do LOVE 'Heatwave' but I'd prefer to see Calvin and Example at the top, I guess another Calvin #1 (as lead artist) is just not happening though :(

I really hope Calvin can somehow get Number 1 next week, I'd be proper miffed if a disposable track from Wiley beats it

Wiley - Heatwave  #22

Calvin/Example - We'll Be Coming Back  #43

The new Calvin song is dull as hell, so nice to see Wiley doing better on pre-orders

We'll Be Coming Back is just as disposable as Heatwave.

Really really hoping Wiley can get the #1, primarily because I'd hate Calvin's #2 run to be broken, especially with such a terrible song. If Bounce and Feel So Close couldn't get #1 but this does I'll be so annoyed.

Pre-order

22. Bom Bom (Remixes) - EP - Sam and the Womp

Out on 19th August, i'm just gonna assume Little Mix's release date was moved back because they realised it didn't have any chance of beating Bom Bom to #1

Just realised that there's only two albums in the iTunes top 10 which are actual artist albums - Plan B and Emeli Sandé - the rest are compilations or EPs

New Releases:

005. Conor Maynard - Contrast

006. Delilah - From the Roots Up [Deluxe Edition]

008. Rick Ross - God Forgives, I Don't [Deluxe Edition]

020. Conor Maynard - Contrast

021. Mike Oldfield - Two Sides: The Very Best of

024. Delilah - From the Roots Up

100. Joshua Radin - Underwater [Deluxe Version]

115. Testament - Dark Roots of Earth [bonus Version]

129. Kyla La Grange - Ashes

161. Kyla La Grange - Ashes [Deluxe Edition]

264. Various Artists - Step Up 4: Miami Heat

376. The Flaming Lips - The Flaming Lips and Heady Friends

519. Joshua Radin - Underwater

Out of Conor Maynard and Delilah for number one, I'm thinking more Conor Maynard with sales of about 30k. I also think Plan B will remain Top 5 and Gaslight Anthem possibly just inside or just outside the Top 10.

Conor Maynard: #01 on HMV, #23 on play.com

Delilah: #07 on HMV, #43 on play.com
