21 looks set to top the UK’s albums chart for a ninth consecutive week this Sunday, which would equal The Beatles’ 21st century record of nine weeks at the stop, set by their 1 album in 2000 – 2001.

It would also equal the record set by Madonna’s Immaculate Collection, which spent nine weeks at the top in 1990-91, the only album by a female solo artist ever to do so.

Didn't 'Life For Rent' by Dido get 10 weeks at the top in 2003? And 'Jagged Little Pill' come to think of it.

I suppose they mean consecutive weeks, but they haven't worded it very well.

Really hope Nicole climbs her album is far better than Jessie J's, it actually has alot of potential hits and her ballads are great.
Chrs Brown's new album should do better than his last album did.

That wouldn't be a big achievement considering Grafitti only sold around 40,000 copies altogether

Wow, Peter Kay and SuBo not doing well at all. Saying that, I remember the Bryn/Nessa one two years ago being #4 in the first set of mids and then leaping up so they should go top 10 at least.

Weird but very welcome to see Vaccines in the top 40, I fear they'll drop out by Sunday but as long as The Strokes replace them I'll be happy

#8 for GD in albums is a solid start, Duran Duran will be even more frontloaded and Nicole and Chris Brown slightly less so so they should be between #8-10 come Sunday. Not bad for a live album given loads of established acts can't get close to top 10 with them.

Great to see Adele set for the double again :D Was hoping we'd get some sales for the top 2s (in both charts). Ah well.

Snoop & Guetta and BEP both top 10 :o Shame Susan & Peter are so low though :( I was certain it was a lock for at least top 10... then again it could climb, (B)IITS did.

Brilliant to see If You Wanna in the top 40, it'll almost certainly drop out but still :D

7 new entries top 10 in the albums  I predicted there'd only be 2 and one of those I predicted was Cage The Elephant.

wow @ SuKay doing terribly- thinking about it, they didn't do two things which probably would've increased its chances - they have no EP on itunes with both the single and the video, like the CIN song and IITS did, and imo they should've released it straight after the show or after it premiered, it would've stood a much better chance

I am expecting it to climb throughout the week, but top 5 at best- shame, I do generally like the comedy charity songs doing well and it looks like its coming to an end :( or at least better than the ones with no sense of humour whatsoever *cough* X Factor *cough*

anyway, not much to say apart from that- Adele number 1 again, yawn- although with J-Lo out next week, that could knock it off

chart wizard, there is indeed a bundle on iTunes that includes the original song, the Freemasons Remix and the video (all for 1.99). One thing I noticed since Sunday morning that might be hindering its iTunes progress is that I could only find this "two songs + video" bundle by either clicking on the "Red Nose Day 2011" front-page banner or by doing a search for the song. On Sunday and Monday, iTunes also had a banner for I Know Him So Well, but it led to the page that only offered the video for 1.89, which won't count for the charts if people purchased it.
I'm getting bored of Adele now. All of this still hasn't prompted me to buy her album. Someone Like You is the only song of hers I like and even thats boring me now. I know people will scoff, but I'd probably appreciate Adele a lot more if there was less hype. ALthough in this situation thats practically impossible.

so it does :o

yeah, I clicked on that as well- and it was just the video- they really should've made it available to download after the show, it would've done a lot better while its still fresh in people's minds

The BEPs in the top 10 :D

Dr. Dre in the top 10 for a second week :D

Err, how exactly is it going to climb through the week, given that physical sales are front-loaded (and it's apparently not even selling many of them anyway)?

I dunno about you, but a video including Peter Kay in drag, and Susan Boyle, would make most people run screaming in the opposite direction! :w00t:

Islands in the stream started at 4, then rapidly increased throughout the week- but again, this will be top 5 at best as its started too low

To think last night, I predicted #12 for 'I Know Him So Well' in Spiidey's Chart Singles Prediction Game. Then after seeing Geraldine on Daybreak this morning, I swiftly came on to edit my votes and changed it to.....#1 Gah!!! :drama:

I should've stuck with my gut instinct. :(

The Subo/Peter Kay Single is too expensive.

They obviously figured that they'd make more Charity cash

that way. However, they really priced themselves out of the

Market - as far as many potential buyers are concerned.

This is obvious, by the way that it is only at No.13 in the

Mid Weeks.

That'll teach you to watch better programmes in the morning or even listen to the radio

wow @ SuKay doing terribly

So after all not the biggest possibilty for the #1 on Sunday :P Either Adele or Nicole it seems, and most probably Adele.

I reckon Adele has got it in the bag for this week, J-Pit will probably end up #1 next week and week after Adele again  Mothers Day effect :D
Are the UK shop prices of the Susan Boyle/Geraldine physicals more than the online prices I've seen? The iTunes bundle with the two songs plus the video is 1.99, which is very reasonable. Amazon UK has the CD single for 2.99, which doesn't seem too high (cost of the iTunes bundle plus CD, case and insert) and the DVD single for 4.00 (perhaps a bit high - 2.99 might have made more sense).
