The first single is supposedly 'Alligator Sky'. It's a more exciting 'Fireflies' imo. Shawn Chrystopher features on the track, and is basically B.o.B. mark II. Think, B.o.B. rapping the verses to 'Fireflies' as Owl City sings the hook/chorus.

Is every single song title of his made up of adjective/noun? It's all a bit TRY HARD if you ask me. I still maintain that his only good song is (the very brilliant) Strawberry Avalanche.

Blah blah you know what I meant. As you say it's in adjectival form ie it is working as the adjective supporting the noun of sky in this context. :D

This isn't terrible actually, after the (EXTREMELY undeserved) flop of Umbrella Beach, I assumed he was going to be an eternal one hit wonder. I can't see R1 getting behind this though

The lyrics are weird to a Des'ree/Rebecca Black level, but I really do like this! Certainly no Fireflies but then again he'll never top that! :wub: Hope this is a decent sized hit at least!

I'd hardly call him a one-hit wonder. He had a number 8 album that went Gold, 'Vanilla Twilight' peaked at number 94 and 'Umbrella Beach' peaked at number 194. Understandable he will never do as well as 'Fireflies', but some artists don't even get a top 200 hit, so for Owl City to have three is hardly a huge flop.

 

I'm split as to whether Radio 1 will back this or not, they seem to hold themselves responsibie for why 'Fireflies' was so huge, so I can't see why not; plus the rapping will appeal to them as they attempt further to appeal to the youths.

yes, but they were both massive flops in comparison to Fireflies- and 94 and 194 are total flop peaks, thats the sort of peaks one hit wonders get :lol:
