Lady GaGa is a dance-pop singer from New York City. Born Stefani Germanotta in Yonkers in 1986, she attended the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU while performing at open-mic nights. A collaboration with rapper/producer Akon led to her signing with Interscope Records, which released her debut album THE FAME in October 2008. She scored a number one hit and a Grammy nomination with "Just Dance," which topped the charts in several other countries, but The Fame truly exploded in 2009 thanks to the single "Poker Face." By 2010, Gaga was one of the biggest stars in the world, aided by her new EP The Fame Monster and its single "Bad Romance." - HMV

BORN THIS WAY      Gutted it didn't reach number 1 :( :( But glad it's snuck another week top 10 - I just know Judas will be a smash number 1 to make up for it! :cheer:
Are people forgetting Robbie William's fail charity track Morning Sun (which failed to even break the top 40 at 45)

To be fair that was a slightly odd choice. The album had already sold a large amount and was the 3rd single (I think) from the album

Does anyone think that by giving away the lead single 'Under Cover of Darkness' as a free download back in February may have been a reason leading to why The Strokes only charted at number 3. Five years away, headlining spot at Reading, but 'Angles' still misses the top spot.

Hopefully purchases of the album will keep constant up until August though as people will no doubt 'prepare' themselves for Reading and Leeds. However, it'll no doubt rise after the performances.

As for the charity single, it's dire. But nowhere near as bad as Gaga's 'Born This Way', hopefully LMFAO, Lopez and Katy B can push this single right to the edge of the top 15 next week; especially with Mann and Kanye West rising.

7 weeks in the top 10 is pretty good whichever way you look at it!

that wasn't really expected to do that well though- there was barely any hype around it

to see an unofficial Comic Relief single miss the top 10 after the other three all reached number 1 with six figure sales is shocking

'Born This Way' has grown on me significantly. Though I still despise the horrid video.
Last week in the top 10 for 'BTW'. It just wasn't good enough to be massive.

....in UK!

Born This Way is growing on me all over again, if you're going to base yourself on something then it may as well be Madge at her peak.

So true, very dissapointed with BTW.Its so cliched.

where did the following vanish to ???

Take That - Happy now

Clare Maguire - The last dance

Up my cardigan

Born This Way stayed top 10 then- I suppose its not done that badly considering its initial underperforming chart placing

10th week top 10 for RITD :( although I guess it will be out next week :D

Edited by chart wizard

This Gaga track is atrocious! Go away, Monster!

True  And this won't be the last week either, the proper remixes that you can actually dance and sing along to are out next week.

'Rolling in the Deep'  Adele has made some fantastic music this era!
