The number 5 album that week - The Greatest Hits by Texas also cleared 200,000 sales, selling 230,000 copies.

I guess this should be added to the list then, no?

So Adele gets another place in the top 20 this week.

Anyone know the reason for the discrepancy between the OCC putting this week's total as 15th all time? Judging from this list I'd say it's 19th.

They've probably downgraded some of the mid 90s totals as is their want. Don't worry they'll upgrade them again in the near future.... :D

So Robson and Gerome have the record for most weeks selling 200,000+ with 7 followed by the Beatles 1 with 6.

What are the chances of Adele challenging this record?

I'd say very slim. In fact, I'd be surprised if it sells above 200k ever again. It's already sold 2.4m and we are entering January low sales. Imo if it can sell a few more weeks this year at 100k+, it'll be doing very well.

It's hard to predict. Common sense would dictate that her sales will collapse for the reasons you mentioned above. But Adele sales don't do the expected.
Would love it to happen but doubtful due to the amount it's already sold in a shirt amount of time - Although in HMV today saw 3 people with the album in their hands why they were shopping the sale section!
I think there's some chance '25' *might* scrape 200k again this week (but expecting more in the region of 100-150k, the sales collapse after Xmas is not to be underestimated even for Adele ~) but even if it does I don't see it ever managing a 7th week.

Brits and Mother's Day ;)

Brits and Mother's Day ;)

Not to mention Q4 next year if she has another single out/promotes it. Can see the album doing 200k+ Christmas week again.

So I guess this is returning. Sheeran already at no 104 on the list after day 1. How high can it go ?

Finally............

And nobody would have predicted it being Abba when this thread started :cheeseblock:

Come on ABBA *_*

I also forgot what an absolute beast 25 was. I wonder if she could get a top 10 placing with 30. I don't think it's out of the realm of possbility. I wouldn't be surprised if 30 did end up with 2-3 weeks above 200k (Debut week/second week/Christmas week).

Really impressive for Adele 25 to have 3 entries in the top 10 for the album! And also that the top 2 are from the past ten years!

Oasis at 3 after only three days on sale wasnt it?
