Keep on going :w00t:. After not liking a Britney song for years, I suddenly really like TTWE. It is much better than the awful TTWE.

I'm the same - havent liked a Britney song for yonks... love TTWE though

Has anyone else noticed Tiesto "Adagio For Strings" is at 76 - that is another classic dance song although there are better versions of it (William Orbit, DJ Yvan, Steve Hill & Technikal - the last 2 i said aren't well known versions)

This week seemed really boring in terms of top 40 entries at the start of the week but there's actually been quite a few at least on iTunes - Chris/Benny, Nicki Minaj and Jodie/Tinchy are all almost certain to be top 40 new entries (though they're all climbers) and Cee Lo - FY! could re-enter, Bruno Mars - JTWYA looked like it might re-enter from the Tuesday mids and on iTunes there's also been T-Pain, Glee (Sing and Baby), Aloe Blacc, Ke$ha and Katy B - KOAM entering the top 40 (re-entering in the latter's case), many of these could also potentially enter the official top 40 this week. Obviously still a very quiet week in terms of 'new' new entries (ie. not climbers) with only T-Pain and the new Glee songs being of note.

Remember that night we looned over her in the YTD thread .

Haha. Totally. That night was unforgettable. :D

Nicki's just amazing tbh. Better at rapping than Ke$ha and Fergie, not to mention, a nice singer too. :D

Yeah, and we discussed if "Firework" was going to sell a million or not. Nicki is god, hope her new song get's top 20, to make up for M4L .

Edit:

I meant to say Nicki is good, but the spelling mistake works :).

Wheetus after dropping to 99p drops down to #135 shows how a extra 40p increases sales.
I like Nicki's new song, but I'm annoyed that she hasn't credited Big Pink although they sing the whole chorus. I hate it when people don't get credited, it's like "In My System" where Jodie Connor doesnt get credit for singing the chorus (and singing just as much as Tinchy raps)

It just show how much price means to people :o. I never imagined a 40p difference would make such a big difference.

Well given Nicki Minaj is, er, a rapper and the other two are singers, that's not exactly surprising

This is slightly different as it's a sample, loads of sampled vocals go uncredited.

To be fair Nicki has sampled the song as opposed to Jodie actually featuring on In My System

Edit: Bray beat me too it

I'd say the uncrediting of Big Pink is fine as it's a sample :) And btw, I'm pretty sure it's not Jodie Connor on IMS, she's said a few times she 'features in the video' but not that she sings  It doesn't sound like her either...

Alright I get that, but there's nothing more annoying than Deadmau5 getting NO credit for producing Alexis Jordan "Happiness", and Stargate getting production credit. Tbh most sampled songs sampling lyrics don't credit the original, Black Box "Ride On Time" was the first to do this iirc

ROT was an unauthorised sample, not just an uncredited one. I assume Minaj had The Big Pink's permission to sample Dominos :P

Yeah, with most samples the original artist does get a credit on the track. I think most of the time they get listed on the credits of the album, at least from what I've seen.

lol yes, of course I know Nicki is a rapper! But she sings in a lot of her songs, and Ke$ha raps in songs like Tik Tok, Blah Blah Blah and We R Who We R, and Fergie raps in songs like Boom Boom Pow, Imma Be and The Time, so yes, you CAN compare their rapping!

I reckon the Deadmau5 non-feature on Happiness is really unfair as well. I mean, David Guetta gets credited on Club Can't Handle Me!

You can, yes, but Nicki is primarily a rapper while Fergie and Ke$ha are primarily singers. That's like saying [insert actor] is a better actor than [insert singer who also acts a bit on the side].

deadmau5 does have a writer credit on Happiness by the way.

That's like saying Eminem sings in lots of his songs, and we should compare his singing to Chris Brown who sometimes raps. You can't compare them

:D

David Guetta makes himself get credited on a lot of tracks though. I think that's part of the deal (i.e. Flo Rida, Kelly Rowland, Snoop Dogg, I'll give you this beat if I can get credited on it). He doesn't always do it though, like on I Gotta Feeling.

And deadmau5 DID get credited to an extent. I believe he got credited as a writer(?) on Happiness. I think he should've got credited as a producer, since he did most of the producing (or even actually on the track, so it was Alexis Jordan ft. deadmau5, like Chris Brown has done on Beautiful People with Benny Bennassi) though.
