It annoyed my how condescending the judges were to that 92 year old man. He was out of time, he was barely in tune. You'd think they were worried about giving him a heart attack if that said anything negative.
I thought the biker could've used a different soundtrack imo but he was still easily one of the best tonight

I don't like that song, but it could've been worse. He could've chosen 'Bicycle Race' by Queen. Nothing wrong with the song, but you can't really bike to it, ironically enough.

He was rubbish wasn't he?

Ronan was pretty fantastic singing 'Make You Feel My Love'! :D Now to watch it climb the chart again, not that I'll be bothered.
Ronan did good enough, he's gonna walk this thing anyway, but he's got a good voice

that song choice though <_>

I was actually quite nervous for him. I was really hoping he wouldn't screw up  Thankfully he didn't and he was always going to do it more in the style of Adele than Bob Dylan. A 12-year-old boy would struggle to sound like Dylan. Of course it was typical of Cowpat to refer to Adele with no mention of his Bobness.

All very ordinary..and yes, Ronan Parke's the winner...but... err... can someone have a word in, ahem, 'music mogul' Simon Cowell's ear? What the hell has Adele got to be proud of listening to Parke sing 'Make You Feel My Love'??? It's an old Bob Dylan song, something of a modern standard, that's been covered by oodles of people, the latest in a loooong line is Adele. Who sang it very nicely.

Ronan was technically the best tonight. But that choice of song.. uninspired to say the least. And lazy. And slightly annoying, given its... ability in the charts :drama:.

He'll be going through then. Out of the remainder, either the bike guy or the martial arts sisters, hopefully at least.

The best three acts tonight were easily the martial arts sisters, the biking lad and the young singer at the end (sorry, I'm not good with names :P ).

I've said all along that BGT 2011 will be won by a child act. The 12 year old boy who sang 'Make You Feel My Love' is definitely through to the final, and I've already predicted he will come in the top 2. Who is the other act? The autistic boy who does ballet dancing - a modern day Billy Elliott. Easily the best two acts, imo, this year.

However, I do think this proves that the standard has definitely slipped compared to Spelbound last year who were incredible, and even Diversity in 2009 who really set the standard of street dance that nobody has bettered since.

I often do prefer covers of songs to the original, but it really annoys me when its regarded as 'their song' with no regard for the original writer :(

Because we have a generation of people who are musically ignorant. Two of my neices thought 'Uptown Girl' was by Westlife. I mentioned Billy Joel to them and they just looked blank at me - says everything. -_-

Only reason i like Ronan is because he's a big gaga fan and he said he would sing one of her songs in the Final :D

It was the same last year (or it might have been the year before) when a contestant said he was going to perform Valerie by Amy Winehouse

Really? I'm not sure how well that would work.
