Yeah, but you could also say Rihanna didn't deserve the #1 either, because she wouldn't have got it without Britney.

And Britney did very well to get a #1 album imo.

Britney's album sold more than EVERY SINGLE OTHER ALBUM IN EXISTANCE in that particular week. All those other classic albums that people could've bought that week, yet it was Britney's that sold the most. We can dilute that as much as we want, but I think it's an amazing success. Well done Britney. :)

Rihanna actually put effort into making the song and promoting it. Britney just recorded some extra vocals and let her fanbase get on with it.

And you could say that about any #1 album, by the standards of #1 albums it wasn't exactly huge  Obviously #1 is a great achievement but I'm pretty sure it won't outsell Blackout or Circus in the USA.

Yeah, S&M would never have got to #1 otherwize. Katy Perry was thrashing it before tbh.

It was heading to number 1, it was touch and go but Britney gave it the push it needed.

Fair enough.

What? There's literally THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of albums people could've bought. That week, Britney's album sold more than EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Every Michael Jackon album. Britney sold more. Every ABBA album. Britney sold more. Every Madonna album. Britney sold more. INCREDIBLE!

You could say that about every number one ever though...

Oh and don't mean to $h!t on your parade but Billboard discount albums that fall off the BB200 after certain amount of weeks. I.e. they can't chart again. So the BB200 includes only current albums. There's a catalogue chart for the 'classics'.

Why would 276,000 people buy an ABBA, MJ or Madonna album in that week though? There was no reason. You don't just get 276,000 people suddenly randomly deciding to buy an old album.

Whereas 276,000 people did have a reason to buy FF because it was the album's first week of release and they wanted to get their hands on it as early as possible. And there obviously wasn't huge interest in it outside her immediate fanbase as sales fell by 73% in her second week.

Yeah, every #1 album is an incredible achievement imo (for the reasons I stated). Even Christina Aguilera's in the UK last year.

Yeah that was incredible, an incredible failure. She had one top 40 single, spent 2 weeks in the top 40 with her album (1-29-45-71-77-98) and 6 weeks overall. She was just lucky that album sales were incredibly (there's that word again) low that week.

Poor Christina. I would have rather debuted at number 10 and not had that distinction!

Let's be honest though. Christina Aguilera has already cemented herself into music history. Who cares if she never has a chart hit ever again? She's already made her mark now. Same with other artists like Timbaland, Dr. Dre, Britney Spears, Jay-Z, etc. They could just completely disappear now, but they'll still go down in history.

Also, Castle Walls went top 300 on iTunes, so that proves that there is still SOME interest in her, and her music.

So??? McFly's "Baby's Coming Back" sold more than EVERY SINGLE OTHER SINGLE IN EXISTANCE in a particular week. It's chart run is; 1-20-39-OUT! This was after downloads were made a part of the chart as well.

How come Amy Mcdonald's This Is The Life and Tiesto's Agadio for Strings are back in the Top 100? Have they being used in something?

Well, that's better than Christina's chart run, and I'm okay with that, so...

About Adiago for Strings, I think that's been on a recent compilation album, and is just hanging around (if so, a good example of an album release boosting sales).

Tell ya what, ADFS must of sold a fair amount by now considering it only got to #37 on release back in 2005 it's always in the Top 500 itunes.
