April 26, 201115 yr C&S' album back up to #14 :D It's selling $h!t all (I mean, Chipmunk sold less than 10k to get #10 last week) but hopefully it can get back into the top 10 for at least one more week Speaking of Chipmunk, how far has his album plummetted this week? And Gorillaz as well? :( Edited April 26, 201115 yr by Bray
April 26, 201115 yr Everyday I'm shufflin' I wasn't sure Jennifer Hudson is releasing her single to download. The single was released a couple of weeks ago
April 26, 201115 yr I really really hope Nero stay in the top-10 by Sunday, the climb of the highest version into the top-10 in iTunes would be even better!
April 26, 201115 yr Emmylou Harris for number one! How could you forget her? :P Or is the release date different than everywhere else? And what's that Springsteen release? The Springsteen release is a bit of a puzzle. Amazon and HMV online both list a 1976 live recording for release this week. However both sites say that it is currently out of stock. There was also no sign of it in my local HMV this morning.
April 26, 201115 yr Nothing really happens in the single chart :( But LOL at 'Judas', all the way down to 17 :lol:Â On the album front, I wasn't expecting Emmylou Harris and Jennifer Hudson to chart that high :o

April 26, 201115 yr Very surprised to see J Hud that high, was expecting her to scrap top 40 to be honest, of course there's still time for her to fall quite a bit during the week.
April 26, 201115 yr It's not hard to chart relatively high after the first day of sales (which include all pre-orders) when a #10 album sells under 10k after the whole week!

April 26, 201115 yr The XL album returned to number one after a week’s absence last Sunday and is now heading towards its 14th week at the top. Won't this 'only' be its 13th week at #1 (14th on the chart)?Â
April 26, 201115 yr Author Ke$ha, Wanted and Dionne have left the top 40 singles chart from last week. Most likely Alexis and N&TW will drop out later in the week making way for Wynter Gordon and C&S enter as the reminder of the new entries plus 2 more to come from somewhere, unless Alexis & N&TW climb further up the chart. Personally I can't see any Glee tracks making a dent inside the top 40 this week. Just to summarise a bit, in the singles chart, the top 5 looks pretty interesting Chris Brown and Bruno Mars are likely to challenge for the top in the next coming weeks, if Bruno Mars does go to #1, it be 3 straight #1s for him, jumping on the Gerry & The Pacemakers and Jive Bunny with their 3 straight #1s I'm sure there are other acts, that followed the pattern. Its the only 2 acts I can think off at the moment. The bottom end of the chart seems a bit refreshing, since a lot of deadwood has disappeared last week.

(Well, first 7, 4 and 6 respectively) The Black Eyed Peas had 3 #1s in a row from The E.N.D. but those obviously weren't the first 3 releases by them. And Take That also had 3 in a row and later 6 in a row. (Spice Girls also had another 3 in a row after their 6 in a row, so did Westlfie) Edited April 26, 201115 yr by Bray

April 26, 201115 yr Jive Bunny holds the record for fastest time to get 3 straight number ones and that isn't about to change :D I assume you mean they have the shortest length of time between their chart début and their third #1? John Lennon scored his third #1 (as a solo artist) 8 weeks after his first. This was also 3 #1s in a row but Imagine was a re-release and he had hits before (JL)SO. Edited April 26, 201115 yr by Bray

John Lennon scored his third #1 (as a solo artist) 8 weeks after his first. This was also 3 #1s in a row but Imagine was a re-release and he had hits before (JL)SO. This - their first number one was in July 1989, their third was December of the same year.
April 26, 201115 yr This - their first number one was in July 1989, their third was December of the same year. Which is a bit longer than 8 weeks :P As I said, I assume this is counting from their first chart entry rather than their first #1, it's just Jive Bunny's first entry was a #1.
April 26, 201115 yr Frankie Goes To Hollywood reached number one with their first three releases. They were the second act to do this following Gerry and the Pacemakers. Interestingly, both bands were from Liverpool. Also, Ferry 'Cross The Mersey was a GATP song (although it didn't get to number one). There was a version of the song on FGTH's debut album.

April 26, 201115 yr Quite surprised Jennifer Hudson is doing rather well with her new album, I must have completely missed all of the hype for it, I haven't even heard the lead single  The album which spawned Spotlight didn't even go top 20 :o
