Frankie Goes To Hollywood reached number one with their first three releases. They were the second act to do this following Gerry and the Pacemakers. Interestingly, both bands were from Liverpool. Also, Ferry 'Cross The Mersey was a GATP song (although it didn't get to number one). There was a version of the song on FGTH's debut album.

Slaps head, how could I forget FGTH

That's a bit of chart trivia for ya for your chart commentary, if Bruno Mars does do his 3 straight #1s. :D

i'm very glad that Beyonce is flopping, maybe that'll teach her to stop releasing the same song over & over again...

Her new song is very different to her previous ones actually. It's not everyday a great unknown dance song like Pon De Floor gets sampled. It might take time to peak but I don't want it in the top 3 as it's not very good

'Unknown'? I wouldn't call PDF unknown.

Unknown to the general public, it was never a massive chart hit. Of course it's well known in the clubs

Can I have a Glee cast update please? :D

Glee Vol 5 5+6=

Where has Chipmunk bombed to :) (Album)

20+30-2=

Yes! Thank you. Hopefully it'll climb back into the top 10 considering the original songs were shown last night and you only needed 10k to get to number 10 last week! :nocheer:

#48? Don't you mean 20+20-2 so it's 38?

Anyway this album has really flopped and will not sell over 50k!

It ain't top 40

Nero 6th :D it will drop throughout the week, but it should still definitely outpeak M&Y

I think the two Glee songs and maybe even Wynter Gordon will enter the top 40 the week- next week it looks like a battle between LMFAO, Chris Brown and Bruno Mars

Chuffed to bits at The Wombats currently in second place, anything in the top 5 will leave me ecstatic - after the number 11 debut the second album is definitely a promising sophmore. Shame to see Jamie Woon fall 25 places to number 40 though, hopefully Gorillaz and Chipmunk have done a bit better.

Odd to see Noah and the Whale and Alexis Jordan back in the top 40 - means the likes of Dionne Bromfield and The Wanted are pushed out though; the latter of which has just been a disaster in terms of chart positions.

Hopefully we'll see the 2 original Glee songs in the top 40 by tomorrow, both versions of each are in the top 75, so combined must both be at least top 30.

Nero at number 6 is the biggest shock of the update though - if they can keep a top 10 placement I may pass out from excitement. Is nice to see Chapman doing well though and Bruno Mars, Jessie J and the amazing Pitbull's 'Give Me Everything' climbing - and Gaga falls 8 places to number 17 - didn't expect THAT big a drop.

Where is Yeah 3x?

At No.26 Albert Square :P

Funny how the whole top 5 is full of collaborations.

It's great to see Beyonce grace the top 10 yet again - feels like 2009 again. :P Hopefully she'll either hold onto her #10 position or climb throughout the week.

Bruno Mars in the top 10 already? :o I really hope he does manage to bag a 3rd number one in a row (5th if 'Billionaire' had got to #1 :(). It'd be pretty impressive.

13th week at #1 for Adele? She's certainly the biggest success story of 2011. Who would have thought it a year ago?
