Posted May 4, 201114 yr “Glee Live! 3D!,” featuring the North American tour, will be released Aug. 12. Fox's television and film studios are teaming with Glee creator Ryan Murphy to produce Glee Live! 3D!, a film of the upcoming Glee Live! In Concert! North American tour. Fox will release the film in theaters for an exclusive two-week run on Aug. 12, 2011. Starring 14 members of the television show, the pic wll be shot live during the summer concerts, capturing both the concert and backstage moments with the characters. Kevin Tancharoen (Fame) is directing the 3D movie. It will alllow fans — or “Gleeks” -- who are unable to see the concert, or who want to see it again, to experience the show in the immersive 3D experience. “This tour was all about going out and performing for our amazing fans who have supported our show from the beginning, but due to the limited time we had to travel during our hiatus, there were only so many cities we could get to before we had to resume work on the television series,” said Murphy. “We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three dimensional glory. We promise every passionate ‘Gleek’ a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles.” Glee Live! In Concert follows last summer's blockbuser concert tour, and gets underway May 21 in Las Vegas. It wraps its domestic tour June 18 in Uniondale, New York, before moving on to the U.K. Going on tour are Glee stars Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowtiz, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera, Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr., Chord Overstreet, Darren Criss, Ashley Fink and members of The Warblers.DYING.
May 5, 201114 yr Yay, so happy It's finding someone who likes Glee (not many of my friends like it and when i mean not many, i mean none at all) will be a huge mission to see it with.
July 2, 201113 yr Author It's being advertised on heatworld.com for a release on August 19th! :D I THINK WE MAY BE GETTING THIS :w00t:
July 2, 201113 yr Comes out the same week as Inbetweeners. Would love to see who would do well at the box office.
July 2, 201113 yr Author 'Inbetweeners' I'd imagine. Considering this is a "one day only" affair :P (Well it's a limited release, I know that much haha)
July 2, 201113 yr You can register your name & email address online to be the first to know when tickets go on sale. http://www.gleelivemovie.co.uk Considering it's a website that ends in UK, and was advertised in the tour programme, it seems even more safe to say the UK will get it as well as the US :D How long it's on for though, and how many cinemas will actually be showing it, I have no idea. I do live near to the biggest cineworld in the country though, and I imagine they would have it even if not every cinema does.
July 3, 201113 yr Author Well the cinema I work at will be having it for a week. (Apparently - I think just the weekend like JLS' concert was and BEP's concert will be) But we shall see. We're definitely having it though :D
July 9, 201113 yr Cineworld, Vue & Odeon are now all taking bookings already. Cineworld have times for the one day, Vue have them for Saturday as well, Odeon has times for the whole week. Vue seems to give a running time of 100 minutes.
July 15, 201113 yr A different trailer, this time the Worldwide/UK version, as the other one seems to be the US version. yoiOMmtq_5k The US also seem to be getting some blue Glee 3D glasses, so I hope we get them too :D Edited July 15, 201113 yr by Jáhq
