Amazing song, just going to echo comments of it being better than the previous two singles and really should have led this era. Probably the best first listen I've had to a song in god knows how long .... this is the GaGa I LOVE.

She has sounded like mad lunatics from the past though, she "ripped-off" Madonna 'Express Yourself', remember?

TBF i think that will come with some of the other songs on the album, (for example there are two versions of Americano, one of which she sings entirely in Spanish!), plus the snippet of Scheisse is like nothing i've heard before (even tho it is a remix). Government Hooker also sounds epic and unique - i just dont think she was ever going to release something so 'out-there' because the risk is too great.

I don't think its fair to judge musically the entire album on these singles as from what we've heard so far it will be varied (unlike Femme Fatale which sounds like the same song 15 times over)

Oh I'm not doing and I hope that she will push herself on the album tracks. I just think she's made a big thing about this album being a big step forward and created a massive set of additional expectations to live up to which, so far, I don't think she has delivered on - even though I do like the songs themselves.

Didn't she said that this would be the pop album of the decade? I hope these are the weakest songs on it.

Well DECADES after everyone else heard it seemingly, I've finally gotten round to it and I have to say that for the first time this era with her - I'm actually impressed. It's technically nothing overly impressive but it's preferable to the 2 singles so far and has a lot more of the old Gaga charm to it.

Feel so good to see all these positive reactions. Easily my fave track from Born This Way era. I'm so f***ing excited now

So is it just me who is left incredibly underwhelmed and a general feeling of "meh" after listening to this?
This is bloody fantastic! Easily one of her best songs after first listen! It sounds like it's the 'Paparazzi'/'Dance In the Dark' of this era for me! (My top 2 GaGa songs!) I knew it'd be too soon to completely write her off in my "not so interested" list. I can see why it wasn't the first single, but it would have been a great second single choice/album lead!

Seems so Dave.

So basically everyone is saying that The Edge Of Glory is a thousand times better than Born This Way Or Judas... and everyone would be completely right!! It's fantastic, the Gaga we know and love! Quite why she didn't release this as the lead single just baffles me, it would have had number one written all over it! Loving the 80's rock ballad chorus! Let's hope the album's more like this than BTW/Judas.

Can't get over how fantastic it is.

It's one of the best songs Katy Perry never wrote. Everything from the vocal to the melody to the instrumentation sounds like it could quite easily have been Katy song but that's not a diss by any stretch of the imagination. It's a bloody good song actually. No massive and jarring sonic switch-ups in the middle of the song, just a great big fat hook, a simple but instantly gorgeous melody and a really natural vocal. Great work.

I can hear the slight Kelly Clarkson influence, and given that My Life Would Suck Without You is f***ing brilliant it's not a bad thing. Far better than copying a Madona track bar for bar anyway.

This is the first track from this era that has clicked right away, Judas is only just clicking with me now and it took me a while to get pass the pretentiousness of Born This Way.

Hopefully she can crawl out of her arse for long enough to make a decent video for this, more along the lines of Eh, Eh; Pokerface; Telephone and Just Dance.

Digital Love - Daft Punk + Dancing On My Own - Robyn + Last Friday Night (TGIF)'s sax line = This.

Pretty damn good.

No. Me too.

Lots of songs can be compared to others. It's hard to create a truly unique song, there's just too many of them!

I agree, there are only so many ways you can take a melody, every time I hear a new song my head compares it to something else, I can't help it :lol: I haven't heard a completely unique, sounds like nothing else at all, song for years - Boom Boom Pow was maybe the last one! Anyway, it actually reminds me more of this than Kelly Clarkson;

o/t but that was such an underrated song :(
