Semifinal one

03 Batidas

Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl feat. Georgi Kay In My Mind (Axwell Mix)

Elëdan have revealed the tracks that will be competing against each other to secure a place in the final of BJSC XLV. Batidas have drawn third in SF1 which brings us to our entry.

This month Batidas have gone Australian as we're represented by Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl featuring Georgi Kay with their track 'In My Mind' but who exactly are these people?

Ivan Gough is one half of Australian dance duo TV Rock. Aden Forte and Josh Soon (AKA Feenixpawl) are a house music duo, who are DJs, remixers and producers from Melbourne, Australia. Finally, Georgi Kay (born 15 March 1993) is an Australian Indie Pop musician, based in Perth, Western Australia. The version of 'In My Mind' entered into BJSC XLV has been remixed by Axwell, one third of Swedish House Mafia. It pisses all over the original. :D

Below are some comments people have left on YouTube about our entry.

My brain's having a spaz. That's how awesome this song is.
Holy shit.... I think this song got me pregnant. Dafuq???

This song sends waves of euphoria through me every time I hear it.
God played this at Jesus' funeral....welcome back messiah

Last night all the attention was focused on Kinë, Elëdan for the results of BJSC XLV. In one of the most stunningly beautiful finals Batidas have witnessed (although Greenfroze edged out in front thanks to their recap videos) Elëdan still put on an incredible show.

Batidas were represented by an all Australian combination of Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl featuring Georgi Kay with their track 'In My Mind' remixed by none other than Swedish House Mafia's Axwell.

We really weren't expecting much from the results and predicted ourselves to be somewhere around the bottom 10 of the scoreboard. However, The Daily Hits are more than happy to announce that Batidas finished in a more than respectable 7th place in last night's final.

The Daily Hits caught up with Georgi Kay at the aftershow party for reaction to the results. "Oh. My. Gawd! I really didn't expect that. I couldn't stop giggling when we were first earlier on in the results thinking to myself this isn't happening. I'm so happy we did well and had a song that appealed to so many others".

It has also been revealed that Flo Rida will be releasing 'In My Part Pt II' on his fourthcoming album 'Wild Ones'. Expect to hear more from Georgi Kay in the coming months.

Semi 1

22 ∙ Batidas ∙

Last night Ingermanlandia opened the official voting of the BJSC XLV semi finals where Batidas have been drawn 22nd in SF1.

This month Batidas are being represented by Oceana, a German singer of both ethnic German and Afro-Martiniquais descent most famous for her 2009 European smash hit 'Cry Cry'.

'Endless Summer' is also the official UEFA Euro 2012 theme song. The football tournament concluded last weekend with a Spanish victory. The track, which samples 'Blaue Moschee' by Die Vögel, continues to live on with the Batidian public.

All the glitz and the glamour of the BJSC world was enjoyed last night as Ingermanlandia hosted the results of the final of BJSC XLVI.

Batidas were represented by one of Germany's finest soul singers Oceana whose track 'Endless Summer' gave us a fantastic 8th place finish. The Daily Hits are delighted with the results as it's our most pop entry we've sent in quite some time.

At the after show party, we caught up with Oceana for her reaction to the nights results. "I'm absolutely chuffed to bits that we did well tonight, to make the final was such an honour and to see people discovering our song and really loving it". Chants of "woah-oh-oh-oh, yeah-ah-ah-ah, endless summmmerrrr" could be heard being sung by others celebrating the overall results at the arena.

Which leads us to BJSC XLVII and more importantly Aeroche who will be hosting the contest for their first time. There is already speculation that next months contest will take beautiful to whole new levels of beautiful. The Elёdan government are already distraught at Aeroche stealing their thunder in the awe inspiring design stakes. Like others, Batidas are excited just to see the graphics, yet alone hear the music. :D

Aeroche hosted the official BJSC XLVII Showcase last night live from Exhibitién in Flynt to introduce each track that has been entered into this month's competition. We were promised awe inspiring artwork, graphics and presentation and needless to say we were not disappointed with the creativity on display.

SEMI FINAL ONE

016 Batidas ÷ Blaudzun - Solar

Tonight, Aeroche have opened the semi final voting stage of the competition where Batidas have been drawn 16th in SF1. The concept of BJSC XLVII was The Key To Greatness Is In Your Hands encouraging risk taking with our song choices. Sadly it seems that very few stuck to the concept.

After sending mostly uptempo tracks so far in 2012, we've decided to send something different. Our entry is by Blaudzun, an alias of Dutch singer-songwriter Johannes Sigmond from Arnhem, Netherlands with his acoustic ballad 'Solar'. Perhaps it's one risk too far but we hope some people make a nice discovery from this track.

The biggest music event of the month took place last night as Aeroche played hosts to BJSC XLVII with the live final taking place at the Exhibitién

in Flynt.

Whilst Batidas didn't qualify for the live final, Blaudzun - who representative us with his track 'Solar' - was more than happy to announce the votes of the Batidian televote. Speaking to The Daily Hits at the aftershow party, Blaudzun told us "I've been following BJSC since earlier this year and I love how diverse this contest has become. It's a shame though because Batidas didn't award points to a couple of tracks I enjoyed".

Aeroche are proving themselves to be one of the most successful nations for 2012 as they won for their second consecutive contest in a row. Batidas were still happy to enter 'Solar' and the track looks set to enter our official top 40 this weekend despite not making the final.

Provisional dates for BJSC XLVIII have yet to be revealed but the people at Colpi Golpez HQ, responsible for finding our entries, are already eager to find our next potential track to represent Batidas.

///___SEMI-FINAL TWO

/// Batidas

Last night Aeroche opened the semi final voting stage of BJSC XLVIII with Batidas drawn 14th in SF2. This time around, their concept for the contest is Winning Is Everything and we're hoping our entry can become a true favourite amongst others and be a potential contender.

Representing Batidas this month are Panamah, a Danish trio who produce minimal electronic pop music. Their latest single 'DJ Blues' has become a breakthrough single in Denmark giving the band their highest charting single there (peaked at #3 a fortnight ago). This is also the first time Batidas have entered a non English track into the contest - song title aside. :D

The Daily Hits have returned from their short break and so much has been happening in the world of music and entertainment in the space of 5 days.

On Tuesday evening, Aeroche hosted the live final of BJSC XLVIII from the Exhibitién in Flynt. Once again, Aeroche had the pleasure of revealing themselves as the winners of the contest - a record breaking third consecutive win for them.

Due to Batidas having their national holiday this week, nobody was available to announce our votes so an automated message was quickly created with phone lines only open until Sunday evening.

After hosting twice, Aeroche have decided to withdraw from hosting BJSC XLIX. The honours next month go to Ramrynia who got their most successful entry to date by finishing in 2nd place. The provisional dates have been announced and Batidas are once again on the look out for our next entry.

Semi Final 2

02| Batidas >

For their first time, Ramrynia hosted the BJSC XLIX Showcase live from Cherry Tree City. The identity of all 45 entries competing in the contest were revealed and Batidas have been drawn 2nd in Semi Final 2 which brings us to our entry.

The National Fanfare Of Kadebostany might sound like a mouthful - and you'd be right to think so!!! :P Their track 'Walking With A Ghost' caught our attention after seeing the song at #1 on Greece's iTunes chart. So who are the people behind Kadebostany? Six musicians from six different countries created this unique Swiss Middle Eastern Band.

You can read more about The National Fanfare Of Kadebostany HERE but in short it's bringing together the cultures of different countries and fusing these to create a unique musical experience.

The element of excitement is still in the air in Ramrynia tonight. Live from Cherry Tree City, the live final of this months BJSC has just concluded.

Batidas looked like they were destined for last place but some last minute pointage helped Batidas to a 25th place finish so big thanks to those who voted for The National Fanfare Of Kadebostany.

Massive congratulations to our good friends in Fljótavík who tonight were crowned winners of BJSC XLIX - their second win this year and proving themselves to be one of the most successful BJSC countries this year.

Batidas have already selected their next entry (Fljótavík say they approve :D ) but we might well end up looking for an alternative.

Fljótavík opened the semi final voting stage of BJSC L live from Mílanó last night and Batidas have drawn 8th in SF2. As this is a major milestone in the history of BJSC (the 50th contest since its introduction in 2007) The Daily Hits are pleased to reveal that SX will be returning to represent us with their new single 'Gold'.

SX first represented Batidas when we hosted BJSC XXXIV with their track 'Black Video' which finished 9th in the contest. We're hoping SX are able to deliver the goods for us with their equally fabulous new release 'Gold'.

The results of the 50th BJSC were announced last night live from Mílanó, Fljótavík and the word LAST sums up the contest for us beautifully.

BJSC L was the LAST contest of 2012. SX 'Gold' was the LAST qualifier to be announced in the Semi Final results show. Batidas were therefore placed LAST in the running order. To top it all off, SX finished LAST in the final. We should be bitter and angry but we actually find the whole LAST thing rather freaky and quite funny.

Regardless of the result, it was still encouraging to get some vocal support during the night's proceedings from other countries.

WHY is Hits last?!

SX is so great. I don't know what's HAPPENING.

(incidentally listening to Amatorski 'Soldier' right now. hits taste successes compilation COMING UP).

Due to popular demand, Batidas will be releasing an exclusive compilation to N DNTN iTunes called "hits taste successes" featuring a selection of tracks by artists including SX, Andain, Amatorski and our current Unknown Pleasures representative whose identity will be revealed on the night of the results. Clearly, the real winners here are N DNTN.

On a final note, Batidas would like to congratulate Numayania on winning BJSC L with their entry Frida Sundemo 'Indigo'. It's the fourth time we have awarded Numayania our 12 points so clearly they're doing something right when it comes to our votes. Keep up the excellent work Tom. :D

Well, Babelfish LIED to me when I created my country name.

You're half right as I translated the word "hits" into different languages. I got Batidas (which is actually something to do with milkshake), Colpi (who knows?) and Golpes (likewise?) Hence why the capital city is called Colpi Golpes.

Thanks for making this thread relevant again Pavel.

Semi Finale 2

5. Batidas: GJan – Tattoo

After celebrating its 50h contest in December, we headed to the Palaszio Dl'Alcazar in Numayania where Queen Andreas opened the semi final voting stages of BJSC LI. The contest looks set to remain as popular as ever with newcomers Alteria, D'yer'maker and Singerpurear hoping to make a big impression on their debut.

Batidas have been drawn 5th in semi final two which brings us to our entry. The track representing us is 'Tattoo' by Lithuanian born songstress GJan. Whilst we had three contenders - each track liked as much as the other - we were unaware that our proposed first choice had already been selected by those pesky Ramrynians. We'll be keeping an eye on their progress in this months contest. :heehee:

In other news "hits taste successes", exclusively released to N DNTN iTunes on 3rd December 2012, was a big success. It became the 9th biggest selling compilation of 2012 in N DNTN after just three weeks on sale.

You know my opinion of 'Alive', but I do really love this track too, so would be happy to see it do well! I haven't heard many of the other tracks yet, that said. :P

Poor ignored Trifoski never being recognised as a new nation :(

Oh sorry! :o I had no idea that you were referring to Krewella when you said your first entry had been taken in the confirmation thread! :drama:

Good luck with your new entry anyway, hopefully it'll do really well! :D
