Gave a quick listen to Pavel's song, it's pretty good actaully! Wish the British X Factor could have a winner's song like that :drama:

Same semi as Tinnmark, that should help me a bit :kink: Torchwood better not win, I was looking on YT for that track before I confirmed Stella but it hadn't been uploaded at that point
Did anybody even attempt to confirm Timoteij? :o

Le Kid will have had their whole album entered by the time it comes out  By far my favourite of theirs - We Should Go Home Together - is the only one that wasn't entered though :(

I don't think anyone did attempt to confirm Timoteij :o

Don't give them ideas! That'll be next

I think we're gonna need an upper limit on the amount of time an artist can be entered before they get banned from being entered for 20-25 contests.

This is Keri Hilsons what, 29th appearance?

Oh, I thought you were cheekily smacking down how Tom thought it would do!

No, I'm sure Alcazar will do well - top ten no doubt, but the song he showed me a few weeks ago genuinely sounded like it could have been a winner, so I was shocked that he hasn't sent it :o

The Idol Finalists song is a real surprise :o Not what I expected at all...

Ha! Didn't expect my entry to be liked :o And it's probably my favourite song at the moment. <3

This is why looning should be seen as a curse.

Speaking of showing you songs, I have a Sanna-esque track that I reckon will be RIGHT up your street which I almost entered this time :o

I worked out the other day that Stan Walker is the 26th artist to represent Ashton in 34 contests and the 21st artist to make their BJSC debut with Ashton :drama:

More than a third of Ashton's entries have been 'recycled'

Your indie kid street cred just took a huge knock - as if loving Eurovision wasn't bad enough, you're now saying that a pop/dance track from Belgium's Idol is your favourite song?

Somehow I don't think you're going to get your votes from the usual countries you do this month  Welcome back to the dark (pop) side :cheer:

TUT TUT! Kopečka have only recycled one artist - Jordin Sparks, and that was all the way back in III!

It was too "pop" as I was expecting BJFestivalen to be more "pure pop" like BJSC XXXIII was. It's a good thing I didn't go with with my other choice; Idool 2011 Finalisten 'More To Me' (my own edit) - I'd have finished last for sure with that.

I am gutted.

Charice was going to be my entry to the next contest - I only discovered it today! Anyway, loads of songs I recognise and loads I love. I was going to send Le Kid actually, but I wrote it off as being a surefire for vetting! Plus SoundGirl was on my shortlist, so if that has a very high finish I'll kick myself. But at least I can say Robot isn't being pessimistic and is going really cheap as he said
Oh, and YAY DANDY, I bloody love that song *.*

It's FABULOUS isn't it? I wasn't sure if people would already know it or not. The version I entered is two of the mixes merged as I liked the breakdown in one of them but prefer the tune of the original.

Quite looking forward to listening to these, my first proper BJSC! :D

Ashton and Kopecka were the first countries to recycle their own artist. Greenland/Londonski were the first to recycle with Delta though.

Oh, I've recycled OTHER artists, but self-recycling's normally something I avoid if I can help it. I've come close a couple of times.

I don't recycle much. I've only recycled Mira Craig of my own acts, and she'd formerly appeared as part of a duo, and then Sheelah because frankly there was no way I wasn't sending The Last Time when I deemed it even better than the song I first won with by them  As for nicking acts whom others have sent first -> Anna Abreu, Ellie Goulding, Linda Bengtzing and Lykke Li. I've only really started doing it in the last year, but it was inevitable, the contest has been running for so long that almost every non-new artist of note has been here before!

As for my entry this time, well it's not exactly like anything I've sent before  Only the second time I've ever gone foreign and I'm doing it with an aging man singing a dance song. Not exactly a recipe for BJSC success but it's basically epic and my favourite song at the moment that's not by Lady Gaga or from Eurovision, so it had to be sent frankly!

I've recycled six artists:

Jordin Sparks

Serebro

The Sound of Arrows

Suzie McNeil

Sia

Eric Saade

They've all (with the exception of Jordin) done better or at least respectably when compared with their first entry. And of course all with better entries than their first

(I kid really, even I can't claim Help Me Out over the wonder that was Lonely when it comes to R SUZE.)

I see The Sound of Arrows have picked M.A.G.I.C. as their next UK single according to the release schedule, nice to see that like the BJSC results showed, they also think that it's the superior song ^_^

Suzie's been recycled again this month look, and she's turned into Katy Perry this time! A woman of many talents.

I love M.A.G.I.C., but it's just whimsy really. Into The Clouds was off the wall amazing, a true wonder of a track - I'd have been devastated if it had missed the top ten, but I suppose eighth is tolerable enough for the fourth best track of the 00s

I'm enjoying how Suzie can juggle being Kelly Clarkson, generic electropop and Katy Perry all at once, she really is the forgotten Buzzjack icon isn't she? :o
