Posted May 23, 201114 yr GaGa set to replace Adele at one 11:00 | Tuesday May 24, 2011 Source: MW By Paul Williams Singles Pitbull’s Give Me Everything with Afro Jack and Nayer is tightening its grip at the head of the singles market, having climbed 4-1 on last Sunday’s chart. The J/RCA-issued single’s sales are up 56% on the week and it is now more than 10,000 sales ahead of Elektra/Atlantic’s The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars in second place where it sat on last week’s chart. Third and fourth positions are also unchanged, with the Interscope/Polydor-issued Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett and Goonrock third and the Epic-handled I Need A Dollar by Aloe Blacc a place below. Having performed it on BBC1’s prime-time So You Think You Can Dance at the weekend, The Saturdays’ brand new Geffen/Polydor single Notorious is the fifth top seller of the week so far, while Virgin’s Swedish House Mafia single Save The World improves 11-9 with a 69% lift in sales. Albums Adele’s 21 appears to have met its match, with Lady GaGa’s Born This Way album outselling it by more than seven copies to one on its first day of release. GaGa’s Interscope/Polydor album attracted 94,125 buyers at the start of this week while Adele’s XL album sold 12,748 copies, according to OCC data, making it extremely likely that Born This Way will top the UK artist albums chart this coming weekend. If that happens it will be only the second week since 21’s release 18 weeks ago when the Adele album has not been number one. Up until now, only Foo Fighters’ Columbia-handled album Wasted Light has outsold 21, when it debuted at number one in April. Sales of GaGa’s first album The Fame are up around 50% on the week as it moves 11-7, while she also has three of the 20 biggest-selling singles at this stage of the week, one fewer than she managed on last Sunday’s final chart but still an impressive tally given her new album is now out. Judas is currently holding at eight, The Edge Of Glory has dropped 13-6 and the new album’s title track drifts 18-16. Hair, which debuted at 13 on last Sunday’s chart, is now down in 41st place. Prodigy’s first-ever live album World On Fire – Live is showing up as a new entry at number three on the artist albums charts, one of a trio of independent releases among the top five sellers. The Take Me To the Hospital/Cooking Vinyl album is joined by XL’s two Adele albums in second and fifth places respectively, while Elektra/Atlantic’s Bruno Mars completes the top five with Doo-Wops & Hooligans presently ranked fourth. A Frankie Valli/Four Seasons Rhino best of, Working My Way Back To You – The Collection, and US folk rock/country rock outfit The Felice Brothers’ new alum Celebration Florida are the only other brand new albums showing up among the Top 40 places at this stage of the week. The Four Seasons album is ranked 29th, while the Loose-issued Celebration Florida is 37th. Its not that hard. [05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude. [06] Do not use Text Talk. May 24, 201114 yr I'll laugh if we have the mother of all shocks and Adele is #1 in the albums and Lady Gaga is #2!
May 24, 201114 yr Prediction 1: Pitbull 2: Bruno Mars 3: LMFAO 4: Aloe Blacc 5: Chris Brown -------------------------- 7: Lady GaGa [Judas] 8: Saturdays -------------------------- 13: J.Lo [iIY] 16: Nicole Scherzinger [RT] -------------------------- 22: Beyonce 25: Rihanna [CKB]
May 24, 201114 yr I think The Saturdays will be at #8.. possibly #7. Yeah that's what I think too. I think GaGa and the Sats will hold the #7 and #8 spots but I can't work out which way around it will be.
May 24, 201114 yr Why would you predict the Saturdays to be any lower than 6 when they're 5 on Itunes and will most probably have big physicals (have they?) and pre-orders ? Edited May 24, 201114 yr by Hayzayy
May 24, 201114 yr Why would you predict the Saturdays to be any lower than 6 when they're 5 on Itunes and will most probably have big physicals and pre-orders ? ....because the CD isn't out yet and the download has been released OA/OS ;) :P
May 24, 201114 yr Why would you predict the Saturdays to be any lower than 6 when they're 5 on Itunes and will most probably have big physicals and pre-orders ? Physical copy isn't out till June 27th. They've done the on air/on sale thing kinda. Only went to radios and music channels on Thursday (5 days ago).
May 24, 201114 yr Oooh right then :P I still don't see them charting any lower than 6 today considering they've been the 5th bigger sellers on Itunes over the last 48 hours ...
May 24, 201114 yr I think Gaga will have sold 85k or so in the midweeks so far and about 210k by the end of the week.

May 24, 201114 yr Author We might not get any mids, everyone is at the Music Week Awards tonight :snif: :drama:

That means 210K? because it's the biggest *first* week... and Adele did 250 on other week... so it's between 200-250... nice :)
