Sugababes are still very much relevant these days thank you. 3 top 10 smashes off their last album and I wouldn't be suprised if 'Freedom' gets them another #1. They will most certainly show The Sats and Parade what a girl group lead single should sound like just watch

Their last album bombed and I would hardly call the 3 singles smashes - sure a top 10 peak; but basically had the same chart run as Notorius is going to have.

The Sugababes were relevant - however they have had their time [weirdly Too Lost In You has just come onto the radio - now that was a Sugababes TUNE].

The last line up change really put the boot in and you can see that with how the last album performed 7-40-OUT wasn't it?

Worse than that. It went 14-43-76-out.

I think you're confusing the 7-40 with The Sats immense flop that is Wordshaker. Sugas last lead single Get Sexy peaked at #2 and spent THREE weeks in the top 10, Notorious peaked at #8 and is going to have like three weeks in the top 40 let alone top 10. I think that more than highlights which group is relevant and which is not.

The Saturdays are relevant, Sugababes are not. End of story.

Sorry darling but you are wrong. Look at the facts and mark my words Freedom will outpeak and outsell Notorious and I'll say 'Told You So' :P

3 weeks in the Top 10 is hardly brilliant. The Sugababes are no longer relevant anymore and haven't been for a while, well, since they actually were the Sugababes.

I may have been - but it seems from Brays post that the Sugas faired even worse than I thought :D

Personally I find neither Sugas or Sats relevant anymore - Sats peaked with their first album and have been eeping out their shelf life ever since.

The Sugababes last real success was the album with About You Now on it - again the subsequent albums really haven't been great and since the 4th line up change are chasing what they once were.

Sugar are only going to outpeak Sats because they are performing on BGT and Sats didn't. Even with BGT promo, the Sugas single will fall very fast and the album will once again flop (they are no longer popular)

So what if it does?

Its hardly an achievment to outsell a poor selling lead single which is bombing down the chart is it? If itself then bombs down the chart after the first week which the Sugas last 3 singles have done - all with the album not having been released!

If Sugababes' next album outsells any of the Sats' albums then maybe I'll reconsider my statement ;)

But more to the point, arguing over which girl group is more successful is completely retarded and always ends with the iTunes thread getting closed. I thought that was a thing of the past but it seems to happen any time there are two girl bands releasing at the same time. So let's just agree to disagree.

The fact the Sugas can get a slot on BGT and The Sats can't says enough. The Sats can't even release more than 2 singles from 1 album whilst the Sugas can still get 3 top 10 hits from an EIGHTH studio album. I'm not going to argue about this anymore because the facts remain - the Babes are still relevant after 8 albums and The Sats will be over by the end of this era

How exactly do you know that the Saturdays can't get a slot on BGT? You've just made that up entirely.

lmao bitter much Niel? These days The Saturdays are amuch more popular then your precious Sugababes.... I'm actually a fan, but let's face the truth... Freedom will probs peak higher than Notorious but I can guarantee that the album will sell less than Wordshaker... And it's not their fault they've not got a BGT slot - it's their crappy management... Plus  at you being so proud of GS spending 3 weeks in the top 10

Oi oi oi. This isn't iTunes talk. You can bitch about this stuff in the pop forum all you like, but the next person to mention the Saturdays or the Sugababes in a non chart related way might very well be getting a warning or have posts fully or partially deleted.
So......... how will the Sugababes new single fare in the iTunes? I reckon #1 peak but fall fast.
I think the new Sugas single will do around the same as About A Girl/Wear My Kiss but perhaps a slightly higher peak (4 or 5).

Didn't the Sugababes release all their top 10 "smashes" before the album though...which proves they knew that they wouldn't go top 10 if they released the album first.

Anyway I find both groups irritating. One only cares about a #1 single when they should be caring about the music they are making and the other are just has-beens who used to be edgy, current and interesting but now follow the trends rather than set them.
