It does make me laugh how having a mum with bipolar disorder, seems to guarantee a man who can sing, before we've even heard him

FOREVER THE (correct) CYNIC

sob stories never fail to make me go -_- however that was outstanding, possibly the best audition of the series so far

He was brilliant, I have a feeling he has a chance of winning this competition.

Doubt it, he's a black male soloist, he'll be out by about week 5.

The last performer was a guaranteed entry into boot camp after that performance, great voice, could go all the way depends what the competition holds.

Andy Abraham came second? There has never been a black male solo artist as good as him on X Factor, especially one with a sob story? I just have a feeling about him.

I really didn't think that last guy was that good - yes he was a really good singer, but he's nowhere near the best of the series (or even night at that) - that currently goes to Sami, for me personally, who did as she hoped - and gave me goosebumps :D I look forward to more of her, who's my current favourite. I also liked the one from the girlband that came back solo, although the track was a bit of a weird one to sing seeing as she just ditched her friends.
Lascel is my third favourite of the series so far, behind Janet (how on Earth will she cope with the live shows?!) and Mischa.

The last guy we saw tonight was a bit brilliant it has to be said. His sob-story was a bit shit though, a 6/10 attempt at best. And his mum didn't even cry. GOD BIPOLAR MUM. GET IT RIGHT YEAH? I loved the fact he repeated his 'I was in foster care' story so many times. I bet he tells it to people in the street too.

Kelly's still far too amazing. And now apparently ends every episode as either a weeping emotional mess on the floor 'I AM SO PROUD OF YOU' or is on her feet like an idiot. Or breaking up girlbands, which I now think is probably what she does in her spare time.

Thinner Michelle McManus was a bit good too. If somewhat annoying. And her hat was shit. I quite liked ethnic Diva Fever at the start aswell.

Louis and Tulisa are a bit adorable together. Gary Barlow still WORST PERSON EVER.

I have seen each and everyone of those points made in a tweet by you Mr. Onion. :P But they do rival the actual show in entertainment value

Dammit. Well I can't be expected to think of different things for here and Twitter can I. I'm not THAT funny.

I'm desperately trying to think who you are on Twitter too....

I think (so far) that the girls are the strongest category. On the top of my head, not looking at any websites, I can name twice as many girls as I can boys... and where are the groups ? The Keys were really good and

I heard about a boyband in Dublin who are meant to be really good!

Tulisa has now become my favourite judge, which is really strange as before the shows started I was most excited for Kelly and my opinion of Tulisa being a judge wasn't much more than "why is this bitch a judge? I WANT LILY." but now I find Kelly a bit annoying and Tulisa is really, really good. She's fun but not completely in your face a lot of the time. Perhaps it's also because she isn't given as much attention as Kelly is so she has less chances to grate on me. Also I find it interesting that before the series started, Tulisa was billed as the "NuCheryl" who would be the breakout star, but Kelly's been given far more focus so far.

The only one I really cared about tonight was Sammy, I really like her personality too.

I thought Lascel was bit boring really, sure he can sing well but he just doesn't seem to have anything about his voice that makes him stand out. I'm pretty sure I've heard a voice like his many times before on X Factor.

That duo at the start was awful and has solidified my belief that Louis Walsh, even if he does have some music savvy. Doesn't use any of it on the X Factor whatsoever. You'd swear he was recruiting acts for the Christmas panto and not a show that's supposed to have talented singers.

I'm starting to wonder whether I just have too high expectations for this show because I didn't think that was half as good as they're all making it out to be. Same with that girl who sang Adele last week. At least she's funny I suppose?
I agree with you. (Although I actually loved Janet from week 1, who seemed to be that weeks major story, thing). It happens every year though... Matt Cardle, Rebecca Fergusson, Laura White, Mary Byrne etc...

Back to tonight's show... The first duo were horrific. Twisted, I thought were actually pretty good. I thought their harmonies were good. OBVIOUSLY NOT. The girl on her own was good though, if a little shouty. Sammi was good, but not as good as she was being made out to be etc.. but Lascel I loved a lot. I got a Ne-Yo vibe from his voice, and that is no bad thing in my books. Ne-Yo has an outstanding voice and I think Lascel definitely has the potential.

Kelly is becoming the lynchpin of the show she really makes the other judges look stale in comparison. The last singer was amazing he deserves to go to the live shows but I cant see that happening Cowell seems to resent male singers who are not red blooded males.
