Seeing Set Fire To The Rain at #37 is impressive to me  With a video and probably i'd say guaranteed massive support on TV and Radio i'd love to see it at #1, but thats a big ask for a song of such a huge album, but it deserves no less then the best, its epic.

So Nicola Roberts could have biggest fall from midweek position we've seen in a while I guess?

Set Fire to the Rain has infact managed to get to #1 in some countries without a music video! :o

I think it might get to #1 here though. I know the album has sold a lot, but Someone Like You has been bought over 3 million times (via album or download) and it's still top 30 on iTunes.

Thats different though Eric, SLY and SFTTR are selling in different ways as SLY was out in Feb near beginning of 21 and was arguably the key seller of 21 which is selling consistently as the album, but SFTTR is selling in a different way as a 3rd single  I dont know if i'm making sense tbh, SFTTR has potential to be huge, the only thing holding it back is the big sales of the album but I doubt that'll hold it back too much, it'll still be a hit :D

I understand what you mean. Like some of the people who bought Someone Like You went on to buy the album afterwards.

Although I guess what certainly is possible is for SFFTR to get as high as SLY is currently, since SLY, at this particular moment in time, is in exactly the same situation (actually, a worse situation, since the song itself has sold 950,000, as well as those album sales) as SFFTR.

Yeah thats so true, how SLY is still selling so well is amazing. Nearly 1,000,000 sales, 3 weeks max it'll make it! :w00t:

When the video comes out and more radio support arises I am sure it will get at least a top 20 position, but I doubt it can go top 10 purely because how well the album has already sold, not to mention the fact that SFTTR has been selling constantly on itunes and other download sites in the lower realms of the top 100. Would be gutted if it didn't even make top 20. It is just as good as RITD and SLY.

If I'm Honest I cant see any way SFTTR not going top 10, i dont think it'll be possible. Her support is going to be HUGE. I know the album sales are mahoosive but I still seeing it being a huge hit.

The only thing is its not a summer song  but that didnt stop Umbrella by Rihanna lol Maybe it'll be a wet summer..

ISTM I may possibly have mixed up the two versions of Born This Way yesterday - seems odd the single version has shot up 40 places while the album version has plummetted from 65 to out of the T100. But I'm pretty sure the album version was higher last night! I do make an effort to check which version is where.

I think SFTTR could go top 10 or even top 5 when video play starts, number 1 would be a bit of a push with how much albums she's sold, that said it would be a huge achievement to even go top 10

its good on first listen - of course, I'm saying this before its hammered to death by the radio <_<

Random: How long as PRA been #1 in Australia for? :o

7 weeks!!! :o :o :o

Infact, Australia have had nothing but club bangers at #1 since January. Dirty Talk for 3 weeks, S&M for 2 weeks, Born This Way for 1 week, S&M back at #1 for another 3 weeks, On the Floor for 3 weeks, Sweat (David Guetta remix of course) for 1 week and Party Rock Anthem for 7 weeks!!!! :o

In 2010 the longest runners were OMG and Love the Way You Lie which were #1 for 6 weeks each.

But in 2009 they had Right Round, I Gotta Feeling and Sexy Chick which all got 7 weeks and Tik Tok got 8 weeks. And the Black Eyed Peas got 13 consecutive weeks since I Gotta Feeling replaced Boom Boom Pow at #1.

Gosh, they really like club songs over there! :o It makes the UK not look so bad now. At least we've had Grenade, What's My Name?, Price Tag, The Lazy Song and Someone Like You at #1.

Wondering why Lazy song is still in top10... There is no song there actually and its video is AWFUL :puke2:

RITD and SLY (not as much as RITD) still sound fresh even though endlessly played on TV/Radio. ^_^ Same with SFTTR i'm sure, and this is just for me of course. :)

what do you mean by this?

what do you mean by this?

I kind of feel the same way (unless I'm misunderstanding). I feel like there's nothing to listen to when I hear that song. The vocals don't seem to do anything interesting. I can't hear anything interesting in the percussion. Can't hear anything interesting in the instrumental. I feel this way about most of Bruno's songs that I've heard tbh. That's just my opinion, but I get bored.

Bruno has a new song called Lighters being put up on iTunes on Monday (I think) actually. I wonder how it will do. I think it might go top 100. It's better than The Lazy Song. It has very good lyrics at least, although the beat is the usual Bruno stuff. More in the direction of Nothin' On You. Tolerable.

Is there a music video for 'Set Fire To The Rain'? It climbed to #8 last week in Germany. To any German members who read this, are they playing this on VIVA? (to all those who don't know what VIVA is, it's basically Germany's answer to MTV).

I used to love watching VIVA when we had the old Sky box years ago. :D

There's a music channel in the UK called VIVA, it was launched a couple of years ago I think?

There isn't an official music video, although I guess they might have a live performance which they're using instead of it for now.

Yeah. I have Viva!! :D That and 4Music are the only MTV channels I get, actually.

No video yet! Really want to see it! :w00t: SO curious!

All this talk about SFTTR, its #5 on German Itunes! :w00t: :w00t:

Yeah, but it doesn't even compare. I remember those dreadful "UP YER VIVA" adverts before the channel launch. :puke:

Mind you, MTV UK & Ireland never came even slightly close to MTV Europe. I blame The Osbournes. <_<

No misunderstanding, that's exactly what I meant

Perhaps there are so many lazy persons who buy it just for its name and text

VIVA was an independent German music channel till in 2004 it was bought by Viacom who owned MTV... There was the caption there with The Naked And Famous' Young Blood... Don't know about now cause my provider's just threw it from its list. Anyway, love this song
