Is this meant to be a good or a bad thing?

In general though, it looks like Australia's charts are quite similar to the UK's. Like their year-end top 10 last year was:

1. "Love The Way You Lie"

2. "OMG"

3. "Dynamite"

4. "Hey, Soul Sister"

5. "California Gurls"

6. "Fireflies"

7. "Only Girl (In The World)"

8. "Just the Way You Are"

9. "Teenage Dream"

10. "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love"

So we shared 6 of each of our top 10 biggest hits of the year. I guess Hey, Soul Sister is the most notable anomally. It did well in the UK, but really underperformed compared to most places in the world.

And not that it's important to anyone, but DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love is so generic. I hate that song so much. I really felt it was, firstly, living off the success of OMG, and secondly, only getting attention due to Usher being the artist, I don't think lesser known artists would've got noticed with such a non-event of a song (sorry if anybody loves DJ... btw ).

Is this meant to be a good or a bad thing?

I'm not quite sure myself to be honest, but compared to the other acts in their top top selling artists of all time (ABBA, Dire Straits, Jacko), he seems slightly out of place.

Also interesting to note that their 9th highest selling album OAT is by...Delta Goodrem.

Innocent Eyes  Amazing album!

I love My Humps. I think it's generally quite popular, along with those people that very vocally hate it. I love it because it's extremely catchy and the beat is amazing. And the lyrics are really funny. :D

+1, everything about that song is perfection. Wish they release more songs like My Humps :(

Lets all bow down to Australia for placing my favourite album of all time in the top ten biggest selling :cheer:

Wish they disappear from the face of world! :kink:

Not happy about Paramore free fall. :(

Bass Down Low is superb.

I hope her next single is Top Of The World.

Nope, its In The Dark (already on the New Release Schedule)

I really do love Nicole her personality is amazing and she was brilliant on Graham Norton. Another top 3 single is brilliant news for her, beyond delighted. Also shocked at how Don't Hold Your Breath is doing in the charts and should remain in top 35 this week and top 40 next week!
ooft. Nicki at number 11 with Rihanna still at 13 (please overtake that awful BEP's song!)? Amazing. Top 10 for nicki (and again for RiRi) soon please!
I wish Dev - Bass Down Low would do a JasonDerulo and just delete itself from iTunes to help get Nicki Minaj in top 10! I'm really starting to dislike Don't Stop The Party the song is poor and shouldn't have been released as a single imo.
Nicola Roberts - Beat Of My Drum is #41.... and to think it was #11 in the midweeks :o

Which is it that *only* Cheryl has succeeded in their solo career?

I hope they don't, it's possibly their worst single to date.

If it's worse that 'Where Is The Love', then it must be truly dire!

I'd HATE to live in Australia if I had to put with PRA at number 1 for SEVEN weeks :drama:

But at least they still appreciate the lovely Delta Goodrem.

No38- Nelly ft Keri Hilson/ Liv Tonight

No51- Bad Meets Evil/ Fast Lane

No76- Mann ft Snoop Dogg & Iyaz/ The Mack

Is Where is the Love? your least favourite song of their's?! :o I know you probably don't like any of them, but I thought it'd be something like Pump It, Imma Be or The Time.

 7. The Lazy Song - Bruno Mars

 8. Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall - Coldplay :(

 11. Don’t Stop the Party - The Black Eyed Peas

 12. California King Bed - Rihanna

 13. Super Bass - Nicki Minaj

 17. Monster - Paramore :(

Dev is not very far away from #7 on the pop bars so expect her to shoot up there very soon. There's then a bit of a gap to #6 but after that #4 isn't too far away so I think BDL can get as high as #4 :D

Yay! Black Eyed Peas up to #11! :)

Also, a random piece of trivia, now that we're discussing them, Where is the Love? is the first ever hip hop song to get year-end #1 in the UK (and since then, we've only had Love the Way You Lie, and Crazy, depending on how liberal you want to be). Most of the year-end #1s before that were rock songs or pop songs. There were a few urban ones, like soul and RnB, but 2003 was the first time a hip hop song did it.

What about Gangsta's Paradise - IIRC that sold a *lot*?

Close. Yes, it did sell a lot! :o Over 1,100,000 in 1995! :o But it only got year-end #2, behind Unchained Melody! :drama: :(

I think there were probably quite a few hip hop songs getting year-end top 5, but I only checked the #1s.
