I'm sure there must've been 3 girl groups in the top 40 since then and before now though. There was probably some time where the Sugababes, Girls Aloud and The Pussycat Dolls were all in the top 40 together.

I'm sure they have in 2005 and 2008.

2005 with 'Don't Cha'/'Stickwitu', 'Biology' and 'Push the Button'/'Ugly' and 2008 with 'I Hate This Part', 'The Promise' and 'Girls'.

It probably happened sometime in 2009 too. Like if you count artists such as Mini Viva and The Veronicas.

Perfumes a bit of a dissapointment after 'Louder', seems they're trying to go i'n some direction with the video. I think Soundgirls songs a great Summery one and they're only 14-17! Theyve been getting over 1000 radio plays but not from radio 1. perfmormed on cbbc, had sample of their song played EVERY time on a 4music programme like Keeping up with the kardashains so Im sure they'll be i'n the top.40! :D

as for badman riddim..... (couldn't find appropriate smiley!)

I have personally heard it on Radio 1 three times, and I don't listen to much radio really, so it is getting played on there.

I hope Parade do moderately well just because they are such lovely people

*Sigh* At Don't Wanna Go Home probably having a high debut.

It's just a rip off of Tik Tok and Dynamite put together (Tik Tok during some verses and Dynamite at the chorus)... and of course the Show Me Love song :P

I don't think the actual EP sale count towards the singles chart but rather count towards the album chart. However songs cherry picked from the EP/Album will get counted towards the singles chart.
EP sales count towards the official singles chart, but if you buy an EP off of iTunes, then it'll be counted in the albums chart, but will be combined with the cherry picked singles for the official charts.
So whats the point in selling cheap EPs for singles? Like the Perfume EP has 6 tracks and the video for £1.99...
Do EP sales go towards the official chart?

Yes, although they show up on the iTunes album chart, they get added to the single for the official charts, hence why Ed Sheeran was #2 in the first midweeks this week, despite only being #5 on iTunes, as his EP was still at #3.

IIRC they count towards the chart as two units, IE it's like someone bought it twice. I don't think it counts buying it 6 times though

thats the price for most EPs, every extra sale can help - a single and EP in the top 10 charts for both singles and album's could result in a good positioning officially

But then again, EP's such as Ke$ha Cannibal and The Fame Monster is counted separately as an album chart because of each having 8 songs though (doesn't apply to the UK but the US since the UK has both albums combined with the previous).

Really, EPs are confusing and I really think an EP should be when it has more than 4-5+ songs different and if it's just one or two songs with instrumental and remixes, it should be classified as a physical single :P My opinion only of course.

By the way, what does IIRC mean?

I think Cannibal and TFM should be named as 'album EPs' and singles should be called 'single EPs' And iirc means 'if I recall correctly'.

Thanks :) and @jellybeanjosh as well.

I always thought an EP was a more extended play compared to just a single with remixes etc, but maybe I'm wrong :P
