 10. Badman Riddim (Jump) [Radio Edit] - Vato Gonzalez :w00t:

This is yet another European dance producer getting a hit this year (although BR(J) is a little bit different to the other European dance songs :P)

I have to say, the first time I heard Badman Riddim (which was quite a while ago - possibly even last year?) I definitely didn't think it'd go anywhere near the top 100, let alone the top 10. :D

Fantastic to see Vato Gonzalez top 10!!!!! :w00t: :cheer:

I can't believe Jason Derulo is top 10. :( To be fair, I do like his discography in general. It's very strong apart from In My Head (and now this song) imo.

Just surprised so many people like this song I suppose. I guess it's just their opinions.

Although I did hear it again today. I guess I can see why people like it. There's so much going on in the song.

Hmmm..All male artists though.

He's a Tw*t end of...I hope his album bombs like 'Won't go quietly' 60k lmao.

Maybe saying congrats to the Sats for dropping 15 places out of the top 10 seems a bit like taking the p!ss... :P

She told Example that he's a rassclart. Then Example made #rassclart trending worldwide. I think it was brilliant.

I know, Bray said he only commented on their music. Example clearly stated she looked 41, way before commenting on anyone's music.

They're gonna overtake Parade soon.

Actually he said around the time she released SWY that she deserves better songs as she is better than that.

The 41 comment could've had anyone's name inserted in there and if you read it in context then it was just meant as a witty one liner. However it seems Alex has no sense of humour and neither do her fans - same with the Rochelle and (most) of the Sats fans

Example said she's gorgeous though, so he clearly likes women older than himself then. I think she's really beautiful too.

Pause by Pitbull is approaching the top 100 now!!!! :o

Oh, and I don't like the "get a sense of humour" arguement. In real life I know someone who's a bit homophobic, and he makes anti-gay jokes from time to time, which can make people upset sometimes, and when you challenge him about what he said, he's just like "lol. You're so dull. I was only joking. Go and find a sense of humour".

It just seems like a way for some people to just get away with saying really nasty things about people. It's difficult to know where to draw the line. People can be very sensitive about their age, so it's rude to call people "old" sometimes.

I know he was joking, I was just saying that Exampe initially made it personal not Alexandra :)

Katy Perry NEEDS to go Top 10 and then number one

There's a difference between homophobia and calling someone 41 and as I said in context of the tweet I dont see how it could've been taken so wrongly.

But I wont say anymore seeing as this is the itunes thread

She won't hit #1 with Last Friday Night but will hit top 10.

I'm starting to think record companies are deliberately messing up OA/OS releases so they can 'claim it doesn't work' and go back to the tired tactics of 1996. :(

But YAY at Foster The People. :D

I think they just are simply not working though. I mean, there's so many success stories pre-2011. So many on air, on sale songs (and album tracks) got to #1 without having music videos released on the same day, or despite taking months to start getting notable airplay or whatever. Look at Bad Romance for example. And Telephone was an album track and climbed to #1 after 17 weeks after its radio premiere and was in the top 100 the whole time.

And I was saying in another thread actually, with more record labels doing on air, on sale this year, the number of songs that have climbed to #1 so far this year hasn't actually increased.

 9. Badman Riddim (Jump) [Radio Edit] - Vato Gonzalez :D

 12. Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) - Katy Perry

 13. The Edge of Glory - Lady GaGa

Looks like it'll be Katy knocking LMFAO out, not GaGa. Don't mind either way.

How can you say it's not working? The number 2 song of the year so far was OA/OS, so was the number 4 (LMFAO) and the number 9 (Pitbull).

There is still a huge amount of sales being lost for records like Calvin Harris, Example and no doubt Jason Derülo because they've been held back, surely you can't say they wouldn't have been hits if they were OA/OS. It seems like record companies are deliberately releasing mediocre songs and then not supporting them with promo, and then a week later going 'see, it doesn't work - now let's get back to stopping people from buying songs they hear on the radio until we say so'. But if all the artists/record companies care about is the peak position then that's fair enough (but incredibly short sighted).

No, I mean it clearly "isn't working" for the songs that didn't do well from it.

But even the year-end #1s recently:

2011: Someone Like You - Not held back. Released within days its radio premiere.

2010: Love the Way You Lie - Not held back. Released within days of its radio premiere.

2009: Poker Face - Not held back. Released within days of its radio premiere.

2008: Hallelujah - Not held back. Released within days of its radio premiere.

These are success stories, and there's many others. It can definitely work.

While I see where you are coming from, come on Eric, that's an unfair example. :P
