Enjoyed last night's ep, I agree with Jark - that was a lot of drama without it being terminally miserable to the point of parody. Zainab was especially brilliant!

 

So who didn't know for the last 2 months that the stalker was Ben?

I thought they'd figured it out weeks ago when they figured out him and Jay had been in Jack's house. But then they were still clueless!

 

Aside from that NON SHOCKING REVEAL yesterday's ep was pretty amazing particularly Zainab, Masood and Denise.

I expected a little more yesterday with it being the Christmas episode. Today however should be interesting

Absolutely thrilling episode even if it was the same plot as little mo and trevor. Gave me goosebumps.

It was COMPLETELY FUCKING AMAZING.

That was completely amazing how come doctors always go out with a big bang. Cough Doctor May. I really wanted more tonight they could have extended it to an hour, after watching that drivel new comedy series after it with David Jason.

All Eastenders doctors are psychos, it's so that Dot can give her annual mention to things not being like when Dr Legg was about!

 

But yes, that episode was amazing edge of the seat stuff. Definitely looking forward to the aftermath.

I really liked Sunday's episode, but last night's was *_*. DRAMAH of the highest order. I was sure somebody I like was going to die (like Denise or Tamwar), especially with Denise's death being a get-out clause for Phil and Tamwar's being a Bradley-esque shock which Zainab would forever blame herself for. It'll be interesting to see what happens now they've both survived though.

 

I am LOVING seeing Denise at the forefront again and Yusef getting his comeuppance upon realising he'd been tricked. Good riddance.

I ADORED that Zainab moment. After a year of being ground down into nothing, she became a QOL of the highest order again. Bravo to Nina Wadia for an outstanding performance.

 

I was also rather shocked by the whole Denise thing. I really thought that after Phil got her out of the burning B&B that she'd cave in and decide to bury the incriminating evidence.

I loved Zainab going hysterical when she found out Masood had Kamil and Yusef no longer had a hold over her. Seeing her beat him down was most satisfying.

This is what makes Zainab a legit latter day legend (ooh alliteration). A couple of triumphant QOL moments and the past six months is instantly forgiven. See also Stacey at the end.

 

The pure malice from Zainab when she lied 'AFIA'S IN THERE' - amazing.

Denise and Zainab stealing the show once more plus a fitting end for Yusef. I'm glad the rumours of an Amira death appear to be untrue.

Soaps never use stunts like this to kill of deadweight. No idea why. But then EE doesn't really *have* deadweight beyond perhaps four characters who could do with being axed.

 

I only ever watch Eastenders at Christmas. I was quite hooked I won't lie.

 

However, I cannot forgive some of the absolutely pathetic writing. "Oh yes even though there has been a fire and I am going to stay here whilst everyone else is out and get a glass of water". "Oh yes there there has just been a fire, but even though the fire department aren't here yet I will go back inside for a bit by myself". Truly shocking writing.

IT'S SOAP! You have to suspend logic now and again for the sake of good drama.

 

I've got to agree with everyone that it really was edge of the seat stuff last night. I liked the Xmas Day episode, but I like that they got rid of all the depressing stuff for the next episode - which was fantastic. Zainab/Denise especially, but the cast as a whole were all fantastic. I didn't see Yusef's death coming (and am very pleased he's gone), but I loved his final smirk before the fall.

The bit that really MADE Yusef's death was that look he gave Zainab which was a kind of weirdly proud admiration for her finally playing him at his own twisted game by lying about Afia. He was obviously GOBSMACKED and weirdly impressed by it.

 

Oh god yes, Yusef's face when he realised that Zainab had twisted him into his death was AMAZING.
