Well if you remember back to

Ryan's arrival in Walford he was actually supposed to be a 'bad boy' who had killed somebody which was what that whole thing with his and Whitney's mother Debra was about. She was 'scared' of him. So it's really taking him back to his roots.

Well if they'd actually bothered carrying that on, rather than turning

---him---

into an old bore who sticks around

The Vic all day just to jeer at Janine

, then it'd make sense... but it's been two years or something since that, so I think it'll just come as a surprise. I can also imagine there being a lot of complaints about the episode in which it occurs.

I was thinking it's a bit out of character as well, at least for how the character is now... If this was 2 years ago, I'd have believed it but now I just think it's far fetched.

'Forsyte Saga', 'EastEnders' star Margaret Tyzack dies, aged 79

By Daniel Sperling, Entertainment Reporter

EastEndersMargaret Tyzack has died at the age of 79.

The veteran actress of the stage and screen passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Saturday. She was believed to be suffering from cancer, reports BBC News.

Tyzack's agent said in a statement that the actress would be remembered for "her outstanding contribution to the world of theatre, film and television and for the support and inspiration she gave to young actors".

"Maggie faced her illness with the strength, courage, dignity and even humour with which she lived her life," her agent added.

Tyzack made her name playing Winifred in the 1967 BBC adaptation of Victorian drama The Forsyte Saga and most recently had a short-lived stint in EastEnders as Lydia Simmonds, the grandmother of Albert Square regular Janine Malloy (Charlie Brooks).

Tyzack withdrew from the role in April due to her ill health and was replaced by Heather Chasen. The character passed away on-screen earlier this month.

Tyzack's filmography also includes parts in Stanley Kubrick classics 2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange, as well as Woody Allen's Match Point.

She was appointed OBE in 1970, and was made CBE in the 2010 New Year Honours List for services to drama.

Sad news. She played the character very well as did Chasen

So I start watching a bit of Eastenders today... AND DAVID ESSEX APPEARS ON MY TV?

? Random!

HaHa Yep he joined earlier this month as Eddie Moon :) I think he's been ok. I don't really think we've seen the best of him yet but maybe thats not what they want.

The whole Max/Tanya/Greg storyline is plain daft.... after divorcing Max and finding someone as waaaaay out of her league as Greg - do we honestly believe she'd give shortarse ginger baldyman Max houseroom ever again? I mean, come on.....

How is Greg out of Tanya's league? Bizarre comment.

Anyway RIP Margaret Tyzack. Sad news.

I don't really see how Greg is out of Tanya's league either? Yes he's gorgeous, but so is she!

And loving the new guy, oh yes!

Oh I don't think Tanya's gorgeous at all, no way. Greg and Tanya? Naaa.... umm.. perhaps she's got a nice personality? I don't remember her being that round-faced when she first appeared, either.

Greg, however.... I just hope they keep him in the show - what with Ryan disappearing, EE desperately needs some male totty.

Tanya is a MILF but Greg is the hottest guy in the show for me  I don't think he's not out of her league though.

I don't find the Greg/Tanya THAT unrealistic. Although Greg is obviously an out-and-out hottie, Tanya is not exactly difficult to look at and has quite the bubbly personality when she's not drowning in angst.

What I'm finding more irritating is the inevitable affair storyline. I'm bored already. Not because of Max and Tanya as such; the actors involved will obviously do a WONDERFUL job with it as always, but it's all so PREDICTABLE and INEVITABLE. I know I need not watch it for three months but still be up-to-date because it's so obvious how it's all going to go.

I've just found out that Meryl Fernandes who plays Afia is 28 years old :o :o She looks the same as Tamwar.... 20.

Now that's a huge Shock.

I wonder when Ben returns? I found it really weird the way he abruptly was written out. I've not read any article regarding being axed, leaving or going on a temporary departure.
