Agreed, although it has more place there than Higher.

Just added up all the known sales for Kylie's albums and the overall total is over 9.7m - will easily pass 10m within this decade.

 

Single sales are well over 12m.

That would be a yearly average of 680,000 based on her 32 year career.

Great that the album was #46 in Monday’s mids - safe for another week Top 75 :cheer:

Kylie staged a triumphant comeback in 2000 with the release of Light Years, which brought her disco-pop sound into the new millennium. Featuring the hit singles Spinning Around (1), On A Night Light This (2), Kids (2) and Please Stay (10).

It will take a while yet to pass half a million. Maybe we will get a 20th anniversary edition.

About 2k shifted since July last year though so it'll probably make it some point this year without factoring anything that may be planned for the 20th anniversary.

I would be very excited about a 20th Anniversary release of her best album if it was to happen.

 

I wouldn't want to get my hopes up that there would be a full re-release but Kylie's acknowledged it as a fan favourite and seems to think very highly of it herself, so hopefully something can be arranged to celebrate.

As i don't expect any new material from Kylie this year, a 20th of anniversary release of Light Years would be nice for the fans to look forward to.

It would ensure a return to the charts for Light Years and bring its overall sales clearly past 500k.

One of those things where I definitively start feeling old - I didn't realise Light Years is now 20 years old. Yikes. Soon it'll be 20 years after 9/11.

 

Anyway, I guess another printing of the Light Years vinyl could be done? It would help shift a few copies (though it'd be better with a 2 disc special edition).

The bonus cd could have all the songs we know that are floating around, yet, not housed on a Kylie album.

Probably about 5 sales but it is a bit random! :lol:

Bizarre that 18 years after release several people felt the need to own the CD single in the same week and managed to track copies down from a chart returning retailer :lol:
