August 8, 201311 yr I never understand why people self-title anything other than their debut. Me neither! I like the artwork, the lighting is perhaps a bit too harsh, but she looks quite pretty (minus the eye makeup) which is a nice change
August 8, 201311 yr Have little to no interest in this, but Dixie Chicks and 2NE1 could rectify that. Here's To Never Growing Up was horrendously average ultimately, Rock N Roll is pretty good though. WHAT is it with the trend in horrendous artwork recently too? Fully expecting Miley Cyrus to outdo all with BANGERZ though. See, I thought this cover put an end to all the horrendous recent artwork! I think it's great, very understated.
August 11, 201311 yr See, I thought this cover put an end to all the horrendous recent artwork! I think it's great, very understated. As much as I too hate self titled albums, especially this late on into someone's career, I agree about the artwork. Simple, understated and just her. Love it.

September 6, 201311 yr Sounds like a rather less introspective effort than "Goodbye Lullaby". She's coming for the charts this time. Bring on that supersonic bionic uranium hit, Avril!
September 6, 201311 yr Looking forward to hearing some of these songs. Pleased 'Hot Mess Princess' and 'Bitches Get Stitches' weren't real.
September 6, 201311 yr love the album artwork :D i think self-titled albums (apart from a debut) are a bit lazy though. is rock n roll on uk itunes yet? i've downloaded HTNGU but now don't know whether to wait for the album or buy RNR  Really digging this comeback. the first of avril's comebacks where i've felt that the real avril lavigne is back, i feel like this era is closer to the first two :D
September 6, 201311 yr SO f***ING IN LOVE with the album cover. Her face features are fab, especially the jawline! Probably because it is genuinely quite hard to come up with a decent album title, and they would rather that than have a horrible album title. I think there's more to this than being lazy or not inspired. Maybe she just felt like it's THE album that defines true Avril. Amy Lee explained naming the 3rd Evanescence album 'Evanescence': "It's about the band; it's more of a band record. But I started thinking about it, and it's also that this whole record and the lyrical content and a lot of the things that it's about to me is about falling back in love with this thing, with Evanescence, with what I've obsessed over for a decade, longer than that.". Perhaps Avril's reasoning is something like that as well? Plus, Avril's properly coming back after quite a few years (not counting that Goodbye Lullaby flop) so I'm sure album title wasn't random or just plain lazy.
