Just heard this and it sounds better than almost anything Will Young has released before!

Big deal - a cat farting would meet that criteria too... :w00t:

I love Will Young and Leona Lewis is OK but 'ECHO' was a dreadful album. How petty to say he is ripping her off

I think this song is fresh and different to anything else around atm - his distinctive voice certainly helps. Don't think it'll go any higher than 21-30 though.

I don't like it. His fanbase will get it top 40 though, maybe top 30.
Here we go again-different names, same old attitude.

You still going on about that? Change the record. :coffee: I havent changed my name since December last year. You're definitely a little bonkers.

Who said ripping off? I said we've already had Echo (RECENTLY) find some originality. -_-

Wow one little comment everyone jumps on bandwagon.

Echoes? Come on Leona had Echo, have some originality with an album name. -_-

That surely is the most ridiculous post I've come to read this year on BJ.

Cracking comeback for Will but it won't trouble the singles chart as it is released the day before the album. Will knows he's an album seller & won't get the backing of the big commeercial radio stations.

Yeah, what's with releasing the single the day before the album?! Even if he's not a singles seller, they should have given it a week in between the single and the album to at least give it some kind of chance of a half decent chart position. That would probably benefit the album too.

Are we on the same forum?

I agree it's not down to the quality of the music just who they perceive as 'cool' or the hype of the moment. If your face fits they'll play any old trash!

If they only playlist what's 'cool' then why do they have so many indie bands on their playlist? Indie bands haven't been popular for years.

I wish people would stop saying R1 don't base their playlist on the quality of the music. Quality of music is COMPLETELY SUBJECTIVE. Believe it or not, Radio 1 is run by HUMANS.

i really like this track and think with radio support this could do really well!! Went for top 10 and just purchased tickets for his upcoming tour!
I love this! Wasn't too keen on his last studio album but this looks like a return to form, a new form at that!
I think it's brilliant but I don't expect it to do much singles wise. Will's got loads of fans but they're not big single buyers. And the people who buy singles tracks in droves won't get much chance to hear it anyway if recent history's anything to go by.
I'm quite the closet Will fan (or at least I was closet about it) and I really quite like this yet again, he always seems to manage a few decent singles per album.

Then explain why they point blank refuse to playlist anything by Alexandra Burke and Enrique Iglasias

Because Radio 1 don't think they fit in with their audience (and they secretly don't like them :kink:)

That's even more evidence against them only playlisting 'cool' music, as people clearly like those 2 artists.

It's a personal decision based on how they view an artist not judging each song on it's individual merit. So artists like Alexandra and Will will never be played no matter what they bring out. I've accepted it now. Will has proved he can sell albums and tour tickets without them.

Yes, because no one has EVER called an album Echo in the last 50-odd years have they?! Good grief!

That is because your one comment is naive, petty and very ignorant :)

There are some artists that they blacklist, yes. The same probably applies to all other radio stations. That doesn't mean they 'only playlist what's 'cool''.

Just had a listen and really like it. Then again, I've been a Will Young fan ever since the live shows on Pop Idol. There was always something about Will that made me want him to win over Gareth "angel with a stutter and spikey hair" Gates. The vocals, that's it. :D Will's style is so unique and it's applied in all his music. Sure, he's put his vocals to some extremely MoR music ('Keep On' and 'Hopes And Fears' were disappointing albums outside the singles) but if his new album is anything like 'Fridays Child' then I'll be more than happy. 'Jealousy' shows promise and hopefully the British media and will fully support Will this era.
