August 5, 201113 yr I'll be interested to hear the Jessie J track, she's as different to him as anyone could be. If you go onto Itunes and click on this album as its up to pre-order you can hear 1min 30sec previews of all the songs. I like the single actually... and Up sounds good as well - I guess with Jessie J on it, it could be his first number 1 - although will probably be released amongst a load of X Factor performers/ former winners etc and will in the runner up's slot a la Broken Strings

Will try again later.
August 5, 201113 yr Amazon has 30sec previews http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005DJA...0413&sr=8-2

Ah right... thats weird - I was on there the other day and managed to get the previews and heard Up and a couple of others. Its odd how you can hear some album previews (Example  ) and others you can't (Ed Sheeran)

August 7, 201113 yr ( ) James Morrison performing UP @ Norwich last week (with his backing singer Sarah) :w00t: Like this a lot more than his lead single, though I do find his gurning very off putting.
August 7, 201113 yr I found this a tiny bit bland and disappointing for a lead single. I know YMIR was the same but that felt like a comeback lead single. This feels like it's either been left of his last album or would fit as an album filler but I don't mean to say It's crap. It's one of those that you don't like/LOVE instantly on first listen and the more you hear it. It grows and it's a nice song. Edited August 7, 201113 yr by Rob Summers
August 7, 201113 yr I know what you mean! Think the sales of the album will explode once Up is released in Nov and then when slave is released nxt yr! Wow this song is impressive! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efgAw48194Q)
August 14, 201113 yr I've always thought James Morrison is brilliant, one of our best british males, which is rare. His lead single 'I Wont Let You Go' is the VIP Track on 4music at the moment. Hope he does really well, deserves too, been gone for so long!
September 26, 201113 yr UC6u0Tct-Fo This must be the first song with Jessie J's vocals that I like :o in part because she's not stuttering the hell over the track. I spent today listening to 'Undiscovered' and 'Songs'. Two very good albums. Hopefully 'The Awakening' is of standard!
September 26, 201113 yr I was about to post Up  But I really like it. Maybe because I love Jessie haha! It's very good - I don't think it's quite as good as say Broken Strings but still a great song for him! Gonna be big, I'm sure.
September 26, 201113 yr Up isn't as instant as BS was for me (was it only three years ago?!). Lyrically it reminds me of another song I can't remember (not the Saturdays song though). Deffo think that Jessie's presence on it will make it popular.
September 26, 201113 yr How this man has mustered any longevity when he's essentially released the same BORING song time after time is beyond me. His musical bankruptness is total. The Jessie J collabo is evidently recycling the idea of getting an ill-fitting "current" artist to feature and release it near Christmas to sell the record. Funny how he did the EXACT same thing with 'Broken Strings'. I really cannot abide him.
September 26, 201113 yr Really like James Morrison and love the new song. However, thought on first listen to clips of his new album, the songs sounded somewhat bland and dont stand out enough for my liking. Maybe this will change!!
September 26, 201113 yr UC6u0Tct-Fo This must be the first song with Jessie J's vocals that I like :o in part because she's not stuttering the hell over the track. It's probably the first Jessie track which I find to be boring and it doesn't really go anywhere? I had high hopes for this as well as I like James Morrison occasionally, too!
September 28, 201113 yr Anyone know what sort of sales James is on course for this week? I really like his new single, although it's no You Give Me Something.
October 3, 201113 yr This much I know: James Morrison Interview by Megan Conner The Observer, Saturday 1 October 2011 Most blokes don't like bloke singers. Even I don't, and I'm aware of the irony. But I'm proud of what I've done. I've been in the music industry for five years and I've made good music. And I've resisted becoming a knob, which would have been easy. I'm aware of playing into my own cliché. On my last album I wrote a lot of songs about my relationship because I'd been away from it and it hadn't always been good; it was stressful. But there are only so many love ballads you can do. My new album goes deeper. It's not all, "I love you baby, I'm coming home". I haven't got any weird feelings towards James Blunt. I can see why people lump us in the same category, but it's annoying. A lot of people think he's wet. I've never met him, but I stood behind him in a taxi queue once and it was awkward. I was admiring his leather jacket and didn't realise it was him. People ask me how it felt to lose my dad last year and I have to remind them that he was an addict. It was probably similar to how a lot of people felt when Amy Winehouse died; you feel robbed, even though you expected it. I hope he's found his way now and that he's happy, at least. When you're on the road touring and promoting you get a lot of compliments. There's a lot of adulation and, "Oh, you're so good looking." And then you get home and it's: "Where have you been, you bast*rd?" I'm finally getting married. I've got a date and a venue booked. I think the delay was about me wanting to be ready, even though Gill [his partner of 10 years]and I have a daughter, and that was the ultimate commitment for me. Things with my mum are probably the best they've ever been. I had a lot to deal with when I was younger [his alcoholic father left when he was four and his mother struggled as a single parent]. But I also think having a career in the spotlight has been difficult for my family. They've taken a lot of shit from the newspapers, which hasn't been helped by the fact that, when I first started out, I was too open about things. Will I serenade Gill at our wedding? No, she's a northern girl and she'd find it embarrassing. She tells me to take off a hat when it looks silly. My most embarrassing moment recently involved forgetting to feed Elsie, my three-year-old, some lunch before my sister's wedding. She spent the whole ceremony screaming "I'm hungry", and I had to scrabble around like an idiot to find her something to eat. I've just spent most of my money on a house in Brighton. It's not a mansion. OK, yes, it is a mansion. If I saw it as a kid, that's how I would have described it. Some of my best holidays have been camping. I go with my friends or my brother and sister and it's great – unless I get kicked off the site for playing music. Last time it was a guy on a bike with a whistle in France that got me. A surname like Catchpole isn't catchy. My middle name is Morrison, so that just seemed easiest. I don't need a special place to write music. I'm not that wanky. Most of the time it's in my kitchen, where everyone hangs out. We've had some cracking house parties. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/201...-this-much-know He's sooooo lovely! And I specially like his "I'm not wanky" comment  *will call him James Catchpole from now on* Edited October 3, 201113 yr by Bella Charli
October 3, 201113 yr A surname like Catchpole isn't catchy. My middle name is Morrison, so that just seemed easiest. <_< My surname is Catchpole! Hup! Well, at least it made it into the Harry Potter books, even if Mr 'Morrison' doesn't like it! I might have to do some research to see if we're related....
