I find it funny that people don't think Pixie has number one sealed, she's got a large fanbase, her airplay already is top 20 in both and more than Ed Sheeran & Calvin Harris. The Saturdays will debut top 5.. I don't even think Leona will get top 5 in all honesty!

Top 30 you mean? Airplay isnt the be all and end all and dosent always mirror the singles chart.

I love Pixie and if it was any other week i'd want her to be #1 but if any of the new entries are going to be #1, i'd rather it was The Sats.
I'd be happy with either. I like both artists and they're both great songs. If I had to choose Pixie would edge it slightly but I won't mind if The Sats nab it.
Why are you so certain she'll get #1? She's hardly got the biggest fanbase of the four, she's only had one album after all.

Her airplay has been decent! and yes only one album that's sold 820,000.

THAT

It does not take a genius to notice Leona's fanbase is much much bigger than Pixie's. Even her second album with bad single choices and little support + full surrender after (or slightly before) IGY sold 600k before dropping out of the charts. I don't think Pixie's 2nd era will even match her first one... It is just unlikely she will get 3-4 more big hits from this album too (now she is not even a freshman!). Perhaps albums-wise she could still do 3*Plat though (I don't think she will).

As for the Sats and Sugas they are already a little insignificant imo. Could have a single in top 10 but it will drop like a stone and their albums won't sell much.

Leona's song on its own is not a proper no1 either. The lack of better song is what could send her to the top.

It's obvious that Leona has a bigger fanbase than Pixie, but Pixie's song is on the radio all the time. A lot of people that aren't fans of hers will buy the song because of this.

It's more important to compare fanbases when the two songs are on air, on sale, and you're speculating as to where they'll debut in the chart. But this is a different situation, since both the songs have been held back, and are known by people outside their fanbases.

At this point I fear that awful Ed Sheeran song might just stay #1 for two weeks. :(

This is how I see it happening at the moment:

1 - Pixie Lott

2 - Ed Sheeran

3 - Saturdays

4 - Leona & Avicii

5 - Example

Don't really think the video will make much difference for Leona. I can't see The Saturdays being much of a threat either, so unless You Need Me turns out to be massively popular in its second week (let's hope it is! ), Pixie should more or less have this in the bag...

...Or am I just spouting a load of crap? Probably, but I honestly don't see Pixie Lott missing out on No.1 here

I really think Leona could get #1, but ti all depends on how much video (& radio) airplay she can pick up this week. Perhaps the fact Pixie's video has been on TV for 6 weeks could be a diasdvantage, but unfortunately The Sats will have to settle for top 5 imo. I love all 3 songs though

I like going for the outsider...

So I hope The Sats get it!

I can see The Saturday's being #1 in the first set of midweeks then losing out to either Leona or Pixie though :(

Here's my verdict:

Pixie's song has already had fantastic airplay and video play for quite a while - more people are going to know about it, and I would therefore think more people would buy it. The song sounds a little dated to me and certainly wasn't what I was hoping from Pixie's comeback but I still think it's better than the other two.

The Saturdays' new single is very underwhelming, and I think if they were going to get a #1 hit, they probably would have done it by now. I really don't think this will go top 3.

Leona's single is the opposite and I find it very overwhelming and although she's got the biggest fan base I think less people of the buying public will have heard it. Also, when a chart battle with Leona happens, R1 tend to support the other track more. When it was a toss up of Happy and Meet Me Halfway, they played MMH to death that week and I only heard Happy a couple of times, so I think they might play Pixie significantly more if the midweek sales are close.

Surprisingly I find the Sugababes single (now pushed back) better than most of these!

Well now that neither Ed or Example seem to be as big as we thought it seems like next week's #1 will definetely come from either Pixie or Leona. I actually think Leona holding back the video was a good idea. A lot of people have only just discovered it and won't be bored of it by Sunday.

I seriously think the Sats have a shot..I wouldn't put them down just yet.

Thye will be seriously frontloaded as the pre-order is a single version rather than an E.P so they will be immediately high anyway, I can really see them appearing at #14/#15 then climbing to #2/3 pretty quickly...Whether they will build enough momentum I don't know?

I can't wait for next weekend though...Roll on midnight 4th Sept!

I wonder if the BBC still see Leona as an ITV/Simon Cowell product and therefore competition.

Leona will walk it. Pixie will be top 3 and The Saturdays possibly top 5.

I'm not so sure about Leona. She's much more of an album seller. Bleeding Love was massive, and so was Run but she DID promote them both on X-Factor and that was a few year ago when she'd exploded in popularity. Happy didn't sell that much, I Got You pretty much flopped and so did Forgive Me. She's very hit and miss. Plus the video only just got released. I think her second single will do much better.

Pixie will chart the highest but have the worst chart run.

(it should be noted The Sats sold 30K first week with an OA/OS release)

I can't see Pixie not being #1 now, it's pretty unavoidable. I think Leona will be #4 or #5, and The Saturdays around there too or maybe top 3. I'd be happy to just see The Saturdays get top 5 with this but I imagine they will, this release strategy works better for them than the one they used for 'Notorious'.

Notorious wasn't really one of their best singles either FAR LESS catchy than AFU.

I reckon they will sell 50-60k with a similar chart run as Missing You..They will be safe inside the top 3 though, especially as I think the Almighty remix will be inside the top 100 possibly top 75 and I'm sure other remixes will sell well.
