October 5, 201113 yr Author Digital Spy of all people have got hold of the album and published a very positive first listen. Seems assured now that this will blow Beady Eye out of the water.
October 5, 201113 yr ^i dont think we should play that sad game aka..."noel vs beady eye"! its not fair for beady eye cause they are a new band with the "outsiders" and its hard when someone compare your album with one of the greatest songwriters ever (even if its a compliment people to make these comparisons with Noel caus ethat s means your album is good enough) on the other hand its not fair for Noel, cause you know he was the songwriter of Oasis.its hard someone to beat him... for the first time we have a lot of music by "oasis".i mean 2 albums (noel & beady eye), b sides, covers etc.all in one year and not the typical oasis album every 3 f****g years! if you like music you are gonna enjoy both. so far, i absolutely love Beady Eye's debut and i m definitely sure that Noel's album is gonna be a classic.that makes me double-happy! ;)
October 6, 201113 yr Author Official video: d6m03FUYaTM&feature=channel_video_title What the complete f***. I love it.
October 14, 201113 yr Noel Gallagher is certainly proving that something Oasis related CAN be slightly interesting. The Death Of You And Me was the first Oasis related single I even vaguely cared for since The Importance Of Being Idle (fair enough, it is basically a clone of that very song), but AKA! What A Life... is the first song I've really liked by them. Hoping the rest of the singles are more High Flying Birds, and less Oasis! :D
October 14, 201113 yr Great video! The final few moments are especially amusing since Noel cannot drive! :D
October 15, 201113 yr Author Noel Gallagher is certainly proving that something Oasis related CAN be slightly interesting. :D I've heard the whole album and the two immediate standouts are tunes written by Noel when he was in Oasis, so you may be disappointed on that front :P they are superb though, the album as a whole is very impressive on first listen although the first half is far stronger than the second. I think Noel was banking on "Stop the Clocks" being the big grandstand finale when actually "Record Machine" (which, as track 5 on a 10 song album, is basically the conclusion to Side A on an old vinyl) outdoes it in that respect.
October 23, 201113 yr Author So this album is VERY good. Might go and see him next year I really want to, tickets out on Friday. Mucho excited.
October 25, 201113 yr Enjoying AKA...Broken Arrow at the moment. Great song! This is my favourite after a few listens. Great album overall too. Really liking the videos and artwork/styling of this album so far.
October 27, 201113 yr I'm shocked I am typing this but I actually quite like this album. It does sound like an Oasis album, but somehow a bit better. Lyrically appalling in places though.
October 27, 201113 yr I'm probably going to be in a small minority, but I prefer 'Different Gear, Still Speeding'....
October 27, 201113 yr I've never heard that tbh, can't say I've been impressed with any of the singles to date though.
October 27, 201113 yr Why do two of the tracks have 'AKA...' at the start of their names by the way?
October 28, 201113 yr Why do two of the tracks have 'AKA...' at the start of their names by the way? Don't know for sure but What A Life was originally going to be called Ride The Tiger. Could be something to do with the title being changed
