Looking back, Pink Friday is a solid album but is criminally let down by the end tracks.
July 29, 201113 yr GOD I hate that album cover. 07 I'm The Best 09 Roman's Revenge ft Eminem -01 Did It On 'Em 08 Right Thru Me 10 Fly ft Rihanna 10 Save Me 08 Moment 4 Life ft Drake 04 Check It Out ft will.i.am 10 Blazin' ft Kanye West 09 Here I Am 06 Dear Old Nicki 11 Your Love 08 Last Chance ft Natasha Bedingfield 09 Super Bass 07 Girls Fall Like Dominoes Lots of very major highlights on this album and not much at all in the way of filler. Incredibly impressive debut actually. I know a lot of people were expecting something harder based on her past mixtape stuff and her feature spots but there's no way I would've gone for a whole album of Roman's Revenge/Did It On Ems (as stunning as the former is). She's surprisingly adept at low-key, downbeat midtempos whilst still managing to work her persona in. Even now after a ridiculous number of plays I still laugh out loud at the 'for your lovin' I'mma die hard like Bruce Willis' line - in a song like Your Love it's fantastically inappropriate but she totally pulls it off where not many could (and I quite honestly believe this woman should have her own improvised sitcom because she would rock it). Plus even now I'm still discovering new favourites. I couldn't bear Moment 4 Life for ages but recently it hit me quite majorly. I still think the first three minutes are so-so but after that when it reaches that gorgeous crescendo it really GIVES ME LIFE. But if Check It Out finishes in the top 10 of this rate there is something VERY WRONG with Buzzjack. Such a limp song and lazy use of a sample. I can't believe it got greenlighted for this album. I bet she HATES it.
