Really?? And this is the first I've heard of it?? I was unaware that got #1 anywhere.

Yes! :D  I'm actually surprised it didn't get to #1 in the UK. It seemed like one of the most popular songs during my senior school years, and then I started folllowing the charts, look back to see where we got, and it missed the top 10. :drama:

It was also a decent-sized hit all over Europe, which resulted in it getting European #1 for 1 week aswell. :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Europ...ne_hits_of_2005

So many good #1s from that year actually. Looking at that list, I'm actually surprised at how urban the Euopean #1s that year were! Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Akon, Mario, J-Lo and the Pussycat Dolls all getting #1s.

And 50 Cent's album getting 3 runs at #1 aswell! :o He was huge in Europe back then.

Today's top 100 update

Well, even though it's been nearly 6 days since the release of 'Now That's What I Call Music!, Vol. 79' most of its entries are still reaching new peaks. And indeed two more tracks from it enter the top 100 today, giving both of today's 2 new entries - Snoop Dogg vs. David Guetta's #4 hit 'Sweat' (#84) and Vato Gonzalez feat. Foreign Beggars' #7 hit 'Badman Riddim (Jump)' (#94) - plus Tinchy Stryder and Dappy's 'Spaceship' re-entering at #97 to bring the total number of Now! 79 entries in the top 100 to an astonishing twenty-two, a full half of the album (including the two album-only tracks). Kanye West and his cast of thousands re-enter at #92 with 'All Of The Lights' as well. Adele (!), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Amy Winehouse and Olly Murs have entries dropping out to accommodate the 4 top 100 entries.

Swagger Jagger is currently #3 on irish itunes, Looking forward too seeing how much to sell's in the uk, (imagine if it sells more then 150k haha) people on here wouldn't be impressed..

Grenade >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Swagger Jagger

That should express my views on SJ becoming the fastest-selling single of the year so far.

I'd say:

Grenade > Swagger Jagger

I love both () but prefer Grenade, wouldn't mind SJ beating the record. It won't though, I don't think it will even outsell J-Lo. Should probably clear 100k though, 90k at the least.

I much prefer Swagger Jagger to Grenade. I'd literally like anything to beat its 150,000 sales. I hope Adele randomly releases a brand new song sometime this year. I think she's the only one who stands a chance.

I think Price Tag or Born This Way could've beaten those sales if they were held back a bit more.

I'd imagine the XF winner.... or someone who performs on the XF will prob beat it...

Cher will prob beat it tbh

I wonder how Matt, Rebecca and 1D will do in the charts this autumn.

I can only really see 1D getting a #1 out of all three of them. Maybe Rebecca, given that Adele is the hottest artist about right now.

Rebecca won't go anywhere near #1. I think Matt could challenge for #1 if nothing else is out on the same week. One Direction will probably be #1 also.
Rebecca will probably get a top 10/5 hit and big album sales. Matt will have 'good' sucsess in both, 1D will get a number 1 and a top 5 album.

Grenade is vile but THIS

I much prefer Swagger Jagger to Grenade. I'd literally like anything to beat its 150,000 sales. I hope Adele randomly releases a brand new song sometime this year. I think she's the only one who stands a chance.

I think Price Tag or Born This Way could've beaten those sales if they were held back a bit more.

"Born This Way" probably would have, did nearly half that in 36 hours. In its first seven days on sale it probably got close to 150k?

Probably. I think some people estimated what it would've sold in 7 days at the time, but I've forgotten what the figure was now.

Swagger Jagger not even top 300 yet. What a FLOP.

I know, I was expecting it to be #1 already.

147. Amy Winehouse - Will You Still Love Me Tommorrow - I heard this on the radio today.

194. Chris Brown ft. Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne - My sisters were watching this on MTV today, and my dad made them turn the TV off.

262. Chris Brown ft. Benny Benassi - Beautiful People (Felix Cartal Remix) - This is still holding up well. Always surprises me how much it's sold though!

464. Benny Benassi - Cinema (Shrillex Remix) - Shrillex did a remix of In For the Kill I think. On Youtube I always see people debating which remix is the best.

465. Pitbull - Give Me Everything (Afrojack Remix) - I always find it weird when the original producer remixes a track for some reason

628. Pitbull - Pause - This instrumental to this is so weird

722. Ne-Yo - Miss Independent - There might be some sort of remix of this on David Guetta's next album

738. Pitbull - Hotel Room Service - I love this song.

824. Glee Cast ft. Gwyneth Paltrow - Singing in the Rain/Umbrella  Was this the song they didn't play on the chart show once, despite being a new entry?

932. Adele - Don't You Remember
