Not quite "falling like a stone" considering 3 of the top 10 are NEW ENTRIES which were released this week and haven't exactly had a quiet release. I think Cher's holding up REALLY well considering people (myself included) were expecting her to be low top 20/top 30 on iTunes by now.

2 weeks in the top-10 is very bad for the #1 single, even if the expectations were even worse. If it was low top-20 in iTunes today, the chart-run would look like 1-3-17, which is ridiculous. But the chart-run 1-3-13(?) isn't far less unfortunate.

And I actually really like 'Swagger Jagger'.

Hopefully Modestep will get the top-10, I don't like the song much, but it'll be refreshing to have 4 new entries in the top-10 at last! :D

I know what you mean, but when you've got people saying things like "Cher will be down to #9 on iTunes within a week of release", or "Cher's drop from #1 will be larger than The Club is Alive's", you can't help but be surprised when she's at #3 in her 2nd week.

Everybody saying things like that has just resulted in people now thinking "Hey, she didn't do that bad".

I'm completely amazed that a collaboarion of has-beens is in the top 3, although I will admit I do rather like the song. First J-Lo and Nicole Scherzinger score big #1s this year and now this, there must be hope for any former stars out there...

Hopefully this bodes well for Steps' comeback later this year :D

A year where the likes of Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5, Marc Anthony, Sia and probably Kelly Rowland are becoming extremely successful again is certainly welcome. I like unpredictability in the charts.

It'd be great if Kelly Clarkson could match the success of Breakaway this year.

I'd like to see some big UK comebacks to besides the old US stars finding form again. Steps would be a nice start but I don't see their style of music appealing to donwloaders at all anymore sadly :( In fact, even if they came out with a RedOne produced club banger I think they'd struggle to be taken seriously...

From their chart histories it's hard to justify putting again next to Sia or Marc Anthony. And I don't really get Nicole, she's been in the charts as a solo artist or with Pussycat Dolls since 2005, and her least successful year is *only* getting to number 14 in 2007.

About Steps, I can't speak for the whole country, but they're still a frequent topic of conversation amongst people I know. They might be seen as too gimmicky or poppy for their original fanbase now, but think of all the University students that are buying Party Rock Anthem, for example (not saying PRA is a bad song). 2011 has been the biggest year for pop music in who knows how long, so Steps fit into the current music scene very well tbh.

I agree about Nicole. I wouldn't say this has been a "comeback", since she hasn't exactly ever been away (Jai Ho and Poison were hits in 2009 and 2010). She's surprisingly big this year though, which is probably what he meant.

True but there was always a massive stigma around her, people called her Nicole Flopzinger for years after her previous failed attempt at a solo career or the desperation of her plastering her own name onto singles like Jai Ho despite her being part of Pussycat Dolls! Nobody could have really expected her to score three consecutive top three singles including a #1, before late 2010 it seemed that everything she touched outside of the band was a stinking great flop for her. And #14 wasn't a particularly great opening to a solo career for somebody of her calibre with the money and producers that were thrown behind her in 2007. Not to mention that she seemed to flop even harder in the US...

I agree with Eric, she's been surprisingly big as opposed to it being a 'comeback' but it's still quite a shocking success story to me.

I really don't know where else to ask this other than here, but oh well.

If I bought an itunes voucher, do I have to spend it all at once when I redeem it or can I spend some then leave the rest of it for a few days later?

You can spend as little or as much as you want when you want. The remaining balance stays credited to your account until you've used it all up and doesn't have an expiration date.

When you redeem it, the money goes into your account. And the money doesn't expire for years.

Awesome, thanks for clearing that up :D

No problem, I only use vouchers because I don't trust myself to use my bank account .

In The Dark #43 and #139. Definately top 40 combined considering the latter version is behind tons of duplicates. I think it might have a Bass Down Low style chart run actually.
Plus you could arguably discount Sia and Marc too, as they're featured on Guetta and Pitbull respectively so it's not a solo effort, those two can get anything to the top 40 :P

I'm too OCD to use my bank account for buying itunes songs  I check my balance, double check the proce of the song, check my e-mails to make

sure I don't have any money due to be leaving, check my balance again, check itunes price again then finally buy the song

I am exactly the same with vouchers, I go through the exact same routine apart from the emails . I'm always very careful with money. Sometimes it takes me weeks to decide whether I like a song enough to buy it.

True I guess. Regarding Nicole, if you knew how many times she delayed her first album Her Name Is Nicole, you'd know what I meant.
