Heaven (and Don't Go) off a lackluster start - I know it's not been long but BLOODY MODESTEP have gone in top 50 already, why can't Emeli! :( Pleasantly surprised with Joe's start however!

26. Moves Like Jagger (Studio Recording from the Voice Performance) - Maroon 5

42. Sunlight (2011) - Modestep

170. See No More - Joe Jonas

Dear GOD, Moves Like Jagger *is* going to be #1 isn't it... :manson:

I wonder if MLJ, Sunlight (:puke:), SNM, Heaven and DG will all go top 10? :o

I wouldn't read too much into the high entries of Modestep (and Maroon 5 for that matter) or the low entries of Emeli or Wretch. The former two are singles, the latter two are tracks from an EP - so all pre-order sales have gone straight to the entries of MLJ and Sunlight whereas they've gone to the EPs of Heaven and Don't Go (hence why they're both straight in the top 3 on iTunes Albums). :P

But given MLJ is moving uncomfortably quickly already it's probably going to get #1 at this rate -_- Hopefully Modestep can go top 10 as well.

I can see Modestep slowing down tbh, they'll be top 20 though. :( Hopefully top 20 for Joe as well, plus the obvious top 10 for Emeli, Wretch and Maroon/Xtina - never thought the latter would be looking like a possible number 1 though :o

Yeah, Modestep probably will slow down. But then I said that about Loick Essien after he entered at #56 so fingers crossed :P

I see we have very different opinions on MLJ/Sunlight :o

I suspect Maroon 5 will get added straight to the B-List on R1 this Wednesday unless it miraculously misses the top 5/10.

Isn't top 1000 yet, I dont think anyway..

I was going to suggest it's been pushed back yet again but it appears to have actually been released this time :o

Eric_Blob pre-empter:

Who'd have thought Christina Aguilera would ever be doing so well in the UK again? :o :cheer:

I know, I seen it on itunes before, Dont know why it isn't top 1000 yet tho <_<

Who do you guys think will come out on top? Wretch or Emile? Predictions for both?

I'm hoping for Wretch to do exceptionally well.

We usually pretty much agree on music but I hold Sunlight in the same (dis)regard as you do Moves Like Jagger and you hold MLJ in the same (dis)regard I do Sunlight

They always do that, as soon as it's a hit it's on the playlist (usually) so I'm sure you're right!

Could be out of 'Moves Like Jagger, Emile & Wretch by the looks of it!

I'm not too sure that MLAJ will get to number 1 tbh, and hope Sunlight dont get there either. I heard it for the first time on Radio 1 the other day, and I hoped it would be the last.

However I am glad that the charts are starting to become more varied again.

Yeah, out of the 7 major releases this week we've got:

A fairly standard UK urban song (Don't Go)

An, erm, Yasmin - On My Own sounding song (Heaven) - don't really know how to describe this, I sort of want to say UK garage but I know that's wrong...

A dubstep song (Sunlight)

A fairly standard Chris Brown-esque American R&B-ish song (See No More)

A song that sounds a bit like Destination Calabria (In The Dark) - again, don't really know how to describe it

A house (?) instrumental (!) (Lunar)

And Maroon 5, who are just Maroon 5. So 7 pretty different sounding new releases this week.

26. Moves Like Jagger (feat. Christina Aguilera) - Maroon 5

41. Sunlight - Modestep

166. See No More - Joe Jonas

171. Don't Go (feat. Josh Kumra) - Wretch 32

292. Heaven - Emeli Sandé

690. Our Perfect Disease - The Wombats

I'd describe them as:

A standard UK hip-hop track (Don't Go)

A 90s sounding R&B/garage track (Heaven)

A dubstep track (Sunlight)

Generic (but amazing :P) R&B/pop track (See No More)

Euro-dance influenced electro track (In The Dark)

House instrumental track (Lunar)

70s/80s disco-pop (Moves Like Jagger)

So it is very varied (I'm crap at labelling genres though )
