Even though I've confirmed, I still have doubts, as always, and there're like FIVE more songs I could happily send. JUST WHICH ONE, IF ANY.

I may enter something that isn't really to my taste at all but sort of fits with the whole European contest feel...

I've sent my confirmation to Grebo - going with my original plan and haven't a clue how well this will do for Batidas. :lol:

Wee bit Ironic that a mass overload of new/returning countries this month rather than last month with a more(even, I think, the most!) experienced host.

I had seen this coming, to be honest. I was keeping track, and with me, Oricon, and uk getting over the 6-month limit this month, plus RC741 pushing his debut back to this month. Then Regina registers too, and we have 3 returning countries. So a little more accentuated (see, I had thought 4 extra countries was going to cause problems, after seeing a conversation about the size limit in last month's confirmation thread) than I had imagined.

 

It's going to be interesting, hey, more songs to discover can't be a bad thing, can it? It will be tougher to qualify, though, and I hope I can.

Well I'm all in favour of 'the more the merrier' but doesn't NSC have a limit to the number of countries it has per contest?

The most entries ever was 54 in BJSC20, we'll be on 50ish this contest :o

Last time we had 48, so adding the debuting/returning countries we have 56 :o Assuming everyone from last contest takes part, as there were some non-voters who I don't remember the current status of and I think Espen were in doubt as Cal is moving house. So we may either equal, beat or just fall short of the record.

I think it will be the biggest contest so far this year! :D If the total does get very high (above 50?) would the amount of countries taking part in the final change? Because it would mean that almost half of the countries go out at the semi-final stage :(

 

And I'm thinking about changing my confimed song again! :lol:

It'll definitely be the biggest this year, no question. It depends on the status of the non-voters though. 48+8=56, but three didn't vote. Assuming they're all banned, we'll have 53, one short of the record. We should equal it or beat it though, as I can't see all the non-voters being banned.

Well, assuming we go up to 56 (which we probably won't, but bear with...) that means we have 28 in each semi. So with a 28-country final, that's cutting it by exactly half. And going by the literal definition of semi-final, that works.

 

Of course, that's rather harsh, but I'm not sure how big the final could be. The more countries in the final, the more songs required to listen and judge between, and that's hard enough with 28 (going from my experience of listening to all the final entries from last contest, I loved so many of them). Maybe it could be increased a little, as having half the participants not qualifying...
