August 19, 201113 yr Really excited now... but I bet the surprise auto qualifier is some indie rubbish that all the fanz voted for :manson:
August 19, 201113 yr "Out Of Time" has got to be in with a shot, pleasantly surprised (for a change) that this got so many high votes.
August 19, 201113 yr Author 50 - NE Busted 'Year 3000' 64 49 - 42 Richard X vs Liberty X 'Being Nobody' 76 48 - 47 Delta Goodrem 'Born to Try' 76 47 - NE Room 5 ft. Going with his massive fall in the 2004 game Will Young takes an almighty tumble here too as Leave Right Now drops from the top 10 to failing to qualify by just one point. 35 - NE Missy Elliott 'Gossip Folks' 113 34 - 29 Dannii Minogue 'I Begin To Wonder' 117 33 - NE Darkness 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' 121 32 - 20 Tomcraft 'Loneliness' 125 31 - 22 Emma Bunton 'Maybe' 126 30 - 35 Libertines 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun' 127 29 - NE Tatu 'Not Gonna Get Us' 137 28 - 19 Avril Lavigne 'I'm With You' 138 27 - 25 Britney Spears & Madonna 'Me Against The Music' 140 "Out Of Time" has got to be in with a shot, pleasantly surprised (for a change) that this got so many high votes. Out Of Time had more top 2 placings than any other song in the round (4 1sts + 2 2nds) however it was only in three other votes picking up 22 points from them, so unfortunately it isn't that. 26 - NE Blur 'Out Of Time' 140 25 - 17 Black Eyed Peas 'Shut Up' 140 24 - 11 Blu Cantrell ft. Really excited now... but I bet the surprise auto qualifier is some indie rubbish that all the fanz voted for :manson: Well I wouldn't call a #39 hit, cover version of an industrial rock band by a deceased country singer born 79 years ago indie, but all the fans of indie music voting in this did award points to Johnny Cash.... 03 - 26 Johnny Cash 'Hurt' 252 02 - 02 Tatu 'All The Things She Said' 289 01 - 01 Beyonce ft. Jay-Z 'Crazy In Love' 315 Predictably the top 3 remain the same but the big surprise is 'Hurt' qualifying for the final. The qualifiers so far: Amy Winehouse 'Back to Black' Beyonce ft. Jay-Z 'Crazy In Love' Beyonce 'Irreplaceable' Britney Spears 'Toxic' Coldplay 'Viva La Vida' Girls Aloud 'Biology' Girls Aloud 'Something Kinda Oooh' Gwen Stefani 'What You Waiting For?' Johnny Cash 'Hurt' Kelly Clarkson 'Since U Been Gone' The Killers 'Mr Brightside' Lady GaGa & Beyonce 'Telephone' Lady GaGa 'Bad Romance' Lady GaGa 'Just Dance' Lady GaGa 'Poker Face' Lily Allen 'The Fear' Madonna 'Hung Up' Nelly Furtado 'Maneater' Rihanna ft. Jay-Z 'Umbrella' Rihanna 'Disturbia' Rihanna 'Only Girl (In The World)' Robyn 'Dancing On My Own' Robyn 'With Every Heartbeat' Tatu 'All The Things She Said' The 2002 and 2001 games will be up tonight and close on Wednesday.
August 19, 201113 yr Yay for the top 2, but I have to say Johnny Cash really isn't my thing and I think Hurt is quite overrated. I'd have swapped it for My Immortal (23rd, really?) tbh.
August 19, 201113 yr Johnny Cash     I wasn't expecting that at all! fantastic though, one of the best covers ever a really good top 10 as well, all of those are excellent :o shame about Junior Senior and Linkin Park though
August 19, 201113 yr Still shocked and surprised that "Out Of Time" got so many high votes and a No.26 placing was better than initially expected. Hopefully it will bring it to the attention of a few more people who may have been unaware of it (but I won't hold my breath)...........it is the most underrated of all Blur songs. Actually a decent set of results for both 2003 & 2004 and not just the total all-female domination. How some can vote for 18/19 and even 20 out of 20 songs by female singers for every single year as they have done - it just isn't realistic. Brilliant result with Johnny Cash making it also (although I do prefer the original Nine Inch Nails version), agreed one of the best covers ever.
August 19, 201113 yr I'm not that surprised at Hurt AQing to be honest, it's the sort of song (well, version of a song) that I'd expect to be liked by most of BuzzJack anyway despite not fitting the mould of generic BJ worship song. Grumble moan grumble at Evanescence being so close to not qualifying but I can't say it was my fault this time because I did vote.
