Four songs fall out of the top 10 including two from the top 3! :o Green Day have a bad year as both of their efforts take large falls and Anastacia's Left Outside Alone which has qualified for the final in each of the previous five years (finishing 26-10-13-35-14) fails to even make the play-off round and will therefore finish outside the top 100 this year. This was another that changed due to Bre's late votes, as it was 9th beforehand. Surprising which Girls Aloud song

So the four new songs to the top 10 all qualify for the play-off, and none of them came close to making it last year. The Killers make two significant climbs as All These Things That I've Done moves to 9th, but both Girls Aloud and Kelis have much larger rises. Hey Ya! won the qualifying round and manages to beat the 5th place of Rihanna's 'Unfaithful' and again I'm just shocked it was never in the 35 in the first place, especially as it once finished 13th in the whole competition.

Toxic has been in the top 10 in each Record of the Decade so far (6-6-1-4-8) and with it falling this year maybe this could be the first time it fails to reach the top 10 overall? Gwen Stefani and The Killers just missed out last year and climb unto the top 2 this time around. Mr Brightside came 5th in the 2004 game last year and ended up beating all four songs ahead of it in the final finishing 5th overall so it's perhaps no surprise it finished on top this time.

 

And if you hadn't already guessed the 'shock' qualifier is in the 2003 game.

I know Mr Brightside is well liked anyway, but I swear that's the first time a male has come out on top of one of any Record of The Decade year poll?! :o anyway, another excellent top 10, certainly didn't expect ATTID to join Mr Brightside in the top 10!

A deserved and expected winner. And WAHEY at me putting their second entry through (if I worked it out correctly FF were already #10 before my votes anyway?)

 

Mr. Brightside is probably in my top 10 songs of all time, although I've probably said that about more than 10 songs :lol:

Brilliant top two.

Woo at Mr Brightside winning... two of my top three ever were in this round so not happy "Boulevard" took such a hefty drop.

This really isn't the year (in temrs of the overall game) for the urban songs! The results tend to get more and more 'indie' as time goes on. :o

Right, if you'd just swapped what you said about 'Mr Brightside' with what you'd said about WYWF (but remove the "but still great") then I would agree 110% with this comment. EVERYTHING. :P
