It's a decent top four but I'm not wild about Feels So Close. The others are great but my favourite ever top 4's were these two from 1999 and 2006 respectively;

 All 8 of these songs finished in my top ten of the year of those respective years! I liked the #5's on both charts too!

1999 is magnificent I agree  2006 is rather let down by Smile :(

The problem is Will is not getting enough AirPlay M5 have doubled it's AirPlay over the last 7 days and is now #4 on the rolling 7 day UK airplay chart so I can only see it climbing higher.

Jealousy is being ignored by the whole of the Heart network, the capital network and R1 and if that's not enough to scupper it's chances the album is released in the same week.

Not really surprised about Heart they seem to play only 4 or 5 songs from the past decade and are always slow to play new music.I listened the other day for a few hours and apart from Beat Again, Bad Boys and Jar of Hearts everything was from the 80's and 90's.

I adore Smile! It spent 5 weeks atop my personal chart before Hips Don't Lie started it's run of 10  With those two in control all summer Voodoo Child was resigned to a peak and lifetime at #3, but also ended up at #3 on my EOY chart! I was so pleased when they all got the success that I hoped that they could, 2006 was SO great for chart music

The 1999 one would NEVER happen now, Eurodance/pop from Italy and Germany, a great British one hit wonder and for good measure the debut single by a future superstar thrown in too - who also happens to be in the mix of this week's top four!

Artists like Lily Allen and Kate Nash REALLY put me off pop around 2006. It was all so clever-clever, it wasn't any fun and none of them could sing. That said I rather liked Sandi Thom but it was a different kettle of fish.

True, I miss charts like that, you'd think it would be easier for international artists to get hits now but they never get the airplay or promotion, at least not enough to sustain a career (Inna has got closer than most in 2010-1).

Sandi Thom and Kate Nash (apart from Foundations) are both garbage and terrible songwriters. Lily is/was a great writer and a natural popstar...but sooo lazy and unambitious about her career. That's what happens when you don't have to for it though! (she got her deal without playing even one gig and came from money)>

I disagree, Alright Still was genius, my soundtrack to summer 2006, the lyrics were completely true to real British life - at least as a 19 year old at the time I felt like I could relate to them anyway. Plus it had great melodies to boot. I liked Sandi and Kate too (and saw the former live at her peak!) but nowhere near as much, I still think that 'Punk Rocker' got too much hate though, I know it was a bit iffy factually and the whole pretend 'discovered in her bedroom' saga put people off but it was different to everything else around at the time  She actually had a lot of personality when I saw her live which surprised me which was reinforced a couple of years later by this which had me laughing for quite a while:

Is Marry You close to top 10? A Team is doing so well to still be top 10!

Who's Laughing Now  #12

What The Watrer Gave Me  #14

Night of Your Life  #17

Party All Night (Sleep All Day) #27

Dont Go #39 & #4

Jealousy #26 & #5

Going to be close between these two for that #3 official spot come Sunday, or I guess Maroon 5 could sneak in and get it.

"Marry You" is around 3% off at the moment, Ed looks likely to climb to #9 as he is virtually neck and neck with Guetta.

'What The Water Gave Me' is far more likely to go top 10 than 'Marry You' (and deservedly so )

I do hope Ed climbs to #9 before Florence goes top 10 though. But then he could just get knocked out by Bruno or Guetta/JHud later anyway...

Brilliant to see Florence doing so well, also pleased to see The Vaccines up to #72 and Two Door Cinema Club (Undercover Martyn) at #100 - hopefully they can become the third offivcial top 100 hits for their respective artists

Is this the 4th or 5th re-release for Two Door Cinema Club? I've lost count. :D

I think Florence will stall at #11 then start to fall sadly.

I've lost count as well, I'm certain they've released each of 'I Can Talk', 'Something Good Can Work' and 'Undercover Martyn' at least twice, maybe even three times  Only one release of 'What You Know' though. It was the success of WYK that has caused the latest re-releases of SGCW and UM, maybe they'll re-release ICT again too.

What makes you think that about Florence? There's not exactly a big gap between 10 and 11 and she's still gaining pretty quickly! Unless you mean officially in which case I agree that could happen, stupid midweek release and all...

A look through Wikipedia reveals:

"Something Good Can Work" (original release: 2009, re-released: 2010, re-released again: 2011)

"I Can Talk" (original release: 2009, re-released: 2010)

"Undercover Martyn" (original release: 2010, re-released 2011)

"Come Back Home" (original release: 2010)

So that's re-release #4 (2 SGCWs and 1 ICT plus this new UM).

Here we go Will is now 6 and he's going to be 7 soon. Here comes the downfall. The 2nd all new top 3 is not gonna happen. Top 5 is definetly likely now.

"Something Good Can Work" was actually released twice in 2009. First in February when the band was still unsigned, then later, a re-recorded version the same year as the first single when they signed to Kitsune. They then re re-recorded it and released it as a single the next year, then again this year. So they've released that single 4 times in three different versions!

And after all that it still only reached #56 :( Still deservedly their highest peaking single though.

Ewww. Florence and the Machine are back with a new song that's just as awful as the rest :puke: I'm sorry but I really, really cannot get into her.

Also, the Usher and Guetta song is brilliant. My 3rd favourite (behind 'Titanium' and 'Repeat' (which is a MASSIVE grower!)) from the album. Hope it does well for them.

Reason #99 why Reg-onjo is gonna work.
