It annoys me when people resort to insulting an artist in someone's sig as an argument - however, as it's Nicola, I find it quite amusing :lol:

I assume the two random AI artist entries are Olly's physical sales... just being added to completely the wrong song(s) for some reason. It's happened before. IIRC Skepta's Rescue Me initially showed up as some random Agnes song.

 

Anyhow, great to see Example reclimbing a bit. Very surprised at how well Joe McElderry and The Game's albums are doing. On the other hand I'm surprised how poorly Hard-Fi and Barbra Streisand are doing. Will Young and Wretch 32 are doing about what I expected (although I thought Wretch would be #3 ahead of Joe).

 

Adele should easily reclaim #2 to spend a 31st week top 2 if Joe is less than 1k ahead. It will definitely be her last though due to Guetta, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bombay Bicycle Club releasing next week.

 

8k isn't a completely unbeatable lead, I think Calvin could be feeling so close (:kink:) to the #1 by the end of the week.

Not insulting, simply stating facts.. her debut single barely made it into the top 40, and her second one is hardly setting the music channels or the radio alight. Let me just add I actually LIKE both songs, but it is highly unusual the way success usually eludes most members of a band when they split up/ have a break with a few exceptions.. Ronan in Boyzone, Robbie in Take That etc. Could Nicole be doing a Nadine? She might not even reach those dizzy heights.. ;)

Never thought I would see Joe Mcelderry at 2 ever again but good on him he needs to stick to pleasing the blue rinse, Coronation street loving, middle aged crowd.Really pleased for Will he has really set the standard for reality show contestants.I am stunned at Scotty Mcreery that song is the worst song of the past decade truly dreadful, who still buys Country and Western music other than vidcapper.

Sean Kingston should be 3 places higher without Noel's B-side and the two AI acts. Some of the acts that have fallen out from last week's chart could still be top 40, when those 3 tracks are taken out of the equation.

 

Acts that have fallen out are Alexandra Stan, LMFAO, Loick Essien, David Guetta feat. Sia, Dev, Eminem, Adele [sLY], Jay Z & Kanye West. 3 of those acts could still be top 40, my guess will be Alexandra Stan, Adele and LMFAO.

That means Katy Perry is 2 places higher, than what's stated on the mini artists update on the mid post. Tracks between Nos 29 to 40 are 2 places higher, which makes Noel's B-side at #30+4 currently, not 30+6.

Actual sales of the B-Side will be separated, in today's mids the physical sales of the song have been added to the B-Side by mistake (which happens all the time), those will be moved to the A-Side by tomorrow.

That's a good point, maybe it's not the physical sales - certainly some of its sales have been added to the B-Side though.

Noel will have a decent amount of digital sales through his own website, I actually think it may be his b-side that high as it is (or was) in the top 100 on iTunes, The Death.... will be as high as 8 because of physicals, 2 versions on iTunes and sales through his own site. Although perhaps not as after checking you can't buy the b-side on its own.

If sales through his website count towards the chart then I revert to the explanation #8 is just digital sales and #36 is physical sales and cherrypicks of the B-Side.

The only surprise is that anyone is surprised when a rap album flops - with very few exceptions, they just don't sell.
