August 24, 201114 yr One of the reasons Adele's 19 has increased is that the price has been reduced to £3! I actually think this is unfair on other artists. Hasn't she got enough sales? Anyway, I am neither one of the blue rinse brigade nor a Coronation Street viewer but I love Joe's album. So relaxing - he is a very talented young man and was sorely treated by Cowell and Syco. Thank goodness he said yes to PSTOS!
August 24, 201114 yr I think you're probably overestimating BBC. As a huge fan I'd love them to sell that much, but I think being ahead of '21' is more realistic and hopefully doable. I'm not a massive fan (Shuffle is great though) but I agree, I can't see them outselling Will's 2nd week, I think the natural drop for 21 will be coming and BBC will be at 4 with Adele at 5.
August 24, 201114 yr He may have stood a chance of higher, had his single been released before his album came out. What a strange marketing tactic  yes thought that very odd too, but i kind of think hes moved into more of an album seller and maybe he was more interested in the album selling well, i dont think Will expected Jealousy to do well so all is a lovely bonus for him :cheer: Edited August 24, 201114 yr by phil3579
August 24, 201114 yr Jealousy dropping on itunes so I doubt it will stay top 3. Still an amazing result. It will be interesting to see how RHCP do in the albums next week given how badly the first single has flopped
August 24, 201114 yr Still think RHCP will open with over 100k next week and then drop massively. The Foo Fighters managed a decent enough opening week with no noticeable single (even though RHCP flopped FAR worse with their lead single).
August 24, 201114 yr So much about this Will era reminds me of Kylie's Aphrodite last year. Summer release with surprisingly good opening sales for the climate due to strong fanbase, classy, top quality lead single going top 3/5 and both got/will get their first #1 album in almost 10 years! It's a decent release strategy I think, sales might not be as big as they could have been had he released in the winter but there's a lot more attention and hype placed on him as there aren't 100 acts all battling for simultaneous exposure. And his albums always sell consistently over long periods of time anyway so I expect it will still be clocking up sales in the mid-low top 75 even around xmas when they account for as much as a top five album does at the moment. I was comparing Will to Kylie as well with this era - the parallels are clearly there. I am so chuffed for Will - a #1 album and top 3 single!
August 24, 201114 yr I wonder when '19' will exit top 10, #8 today. How many weeks has it been top 10 this year? I cant keep up! :o 19 has been in the top 10 since mid January and top 5 since the end of February!
August 24, 201114 yr The thing is Joe apparently increased on Adele yesterday (by 1k) which is more shocking for me, to be honest. I agree. This album is really moving, but to be honest, it should. It is a fantastic album, and I can't believe how much I like it. Happy for Joe! He is such a great guy. :) Edited August 24, 201114 yr by jonmove
August 24, 201114 yr Still think RHCP will open with over 100k next week and then drop massively. The Foo Fighters managed a decent enough opening week with no noticeable single (even though RHCP flopped FAR worse with their lead single). its hard to say it flopped...it was on air on sale and not many had heard it and they haven't been around for 5 years....the chances of a rock/indie act recovering after promo has started with this release strategy is less than say guetta or rihanna for the obvious reasons!! also on next weeks chart...i think BBC will sell around 25k and be no5 - behind adele-21, rhcps(no1), guetta and will young.
August 24, 201114 yr happy to see that Will is doing well with the amazing song JEALOUSY :D and the album too :D i was playing it all day lol :P also happy to see Joe is doing well too...he just needs someone to focus that he has the voice :D ppl dont care about this these days... :(
August 24, 201114 yr I do - that is why I love Joe's album. His voice is phenominal. People of my age are more likely to buy Joe's album I would think and also get a physical copy. Both Will and Joe's had run out in Tescos!
August 25, 201114 yr Never thought I would see Joe Mcelderry at 2 ever again but good on him he needs to stick to pleasing the blue rinse, Coronation street loving, middle aged crowd.Really pleased for Will he has really set the standard for reality show contestants.I am stunned at Scotty Mcreery that song is the worst song of the past decade truly dreadful, who still buys Country and Western music other than vidcapper. Hey, I only buy it if it's by an attractive female singer (Taylor Swift, Colbie Caillat, etc). ;)
August 25, 201114 yr Hey, I only buy it if it's by an attractive female singer (Taylor Swift, Colbie Caillat, etc). ;) I can't tell if you're joking or not! I think Taylor Swift is pretty, but I hate her songs :(

August 25, 201114 yr Wow how quick are you Martin  How is jealousy managing to stay at #3 the MW mag said there was only a few hundred copies between Will and Wretch on Tuesdays mids. Edited August 25, 201114 yr by Sunday
August 25, 201114 yr Author Wow how quick are you Martin  Just use the previous mids and a quick tweak in places :P ================== Furthernote: Again I don't have any sales material for today, if anyone is using twitter/facebook for Will, Olly and Joe, feel free to post any sales material.
August 25, 201114 yr How is Plan B top 20 again? Has he been on TV recently or is it just the low sales climate giving him a boost?
August 25, 201114 yr Author How is Plan B top 20 again? Has he been on TV recently or is it just the low sales climate giving him a boost? I really don't know, I could say the same for the Who, Who's album was #70 last week, up 40 places
August 25, 201114 yr How is jealousy managing to stay at #3 the MW mag said there was only a few hundred copies between Will and Wretch on Tuesdays mids. If you combine both top 30 Itunes positions for "Jealousy", Will is still ahead of Wrech 32, so he's still selling more than "Don't go" at the mo. I really hope he can hold that position until Sunday !
August 25, 201114 yr Plan B was at V at the weekend, that could be why. Although I'm not sure if there was much (any) TV coverage of it. If you combine both top 30 Itunes positions for "Jealousy", Will is still ahead of Wrech 32, so he's still selling more than "Don't go" at the mo. I really hope he can hold that position until Sunday ! He's not when you combine the two versions of Wretch's song though.... Will is #7 and #25 with combined popularity of 0.516, Wretch is #4 and #32 with combined popularity of 0.596, so he's significantly ahead of Will, about 15%.
