oh, I forgot about 'the children in need medley' and 'shout'. those were also terrible in a novelty way, so those were kind of intended to be crap, whereas 'bad boys' was actually meant to be a genuine pop song.
Well the worst song titles for me latest is Party Rock Anthem... I can't see a song as bad as that for ages....
The Children in Need medley was incredible, especially the video. It was pure genius. All Summer Long was something I really should've hated, someone terrible massacring two great songs, and yet I actually quite liked it!

^_^

How exactly would I 'back it up'? It's an opinion

I have just as much right to express my dislike for the song as you and everyone else has the right to express their like or dislike for it. It's a music discussion forum, not a 'like Maroon 5 or you'll be banned' forum.

You can dislike the song as much as you like but I'd suggest you tone down some of the extreme comments because it's obvious that they're grating on some people. And by name dropping me earlier it was almost as good as baiting, particularly as I am not the only one who often expresses their like for the song.

And as for the backing up: an opinion is usually only valid if backed up with reason. 'I can say what I like cos it's my opinion' is a complete myth. If I said it was my opinion that mankind can breathe air on the moon I'd be incorrect because there is no evidence this is true. I'll give you that opinions on music arent that extreme but people may get less annoyed if you just stated why you don't like the song other than 'it's Maroon 5' which isn't quite so valid.

Also as much right as you have to dislike a song, you do bring this up a lot. With a lot of posters, you never know which songs they dislike because they'll have mentioned it once at the most.

Sorry about the rant. By all means ignore me and carry on. Just don't bring my name into it the next time you rub someone up the wrong way.

here here!!

I completely agree, song wasn't all that, but that video  plus it was made even better by the fact it kept the borefest that was Russian Roulette off the top (VERY unpopular BJ opinion there :kink: )

the worst number 1 in recent times for me has to be Hallelujah by Alex Burke - what an utter insult to a classic :puke:

I agree with you in general, but to be fair, there's some songs I don't like (and this also happens with some songs I like aswell), and people ask me like "Why? Why do you hate/like that song? What's wrong with you?" (mostly this happens when I say I hate a Lady Gaga song, or when I say I like a rap song, or when I say I like songs like Start Without You). I do try and explain my reasons for my opinion, but often it just makes matters worse, and can get into an arguement. I might say, I don't like the song because I find it generic, and then people berate me about why it isn't generic, then I say I find it boring, then apparently people there's something wrong with me, and I don't find the song boring really, and so on.

So based from personal experience, if I find a song boring, I'll probably not explain why in the future. Especially since it's exaclty the same songs that people decide to question me on again and again and again and again. I can say I hate She Makes Me Wanna and Beautiful Girls all I like, and nobody says anything, but when I say I don't like Poker Face, it's all "Why? What's wrong with you? It's a fantastic pop song!". I'm fed up. I've explained like a million times to people why I don't like Poker Face. And I swear it's the same people asking me about it each time aswell. Anyway, my rant over.

I'm with you on this thing in general though. I like Moves Like Jagger, and I'd be very happy to see it as a #1 sometime in the coming weeks.

JLS really benefitting from the 59p effect, up to 13 now!

There performing on Red Or Black aswell, Next week sometime, They have been confirmed! so maybe top 10 again?

Has anyone else been confirmed? Hoping for Nicole!

Leona, Pixie, JLS, Jessie J, One Direction and Il Divo have been confirmed so far.

I think it's looking good for a Pixie/Leona top 2 next week then, hopefully Jessie J can get a new peak also!

Why must we see Ill Divo, Diversity & Jls. Surprised not to see Nicole but I guess it's because she wont have the time due to Xfactor Usa.

Sorry, but what is this Red or Black thing people are talking about? Is it a music program on TV or something?

Also, I doubt Nicole will be on there, since she's got a certain job in the US now. Although earlier this year she did seem to be in the US one day, the UK the next day, then back in the US the day after all the time, so who knows?

It's a quiz show, created by Simon Cowell.

I completely see where you're coming from. Explaining can often make things worse. But the main part of my rant was that it is impossible to have an opinion without reason. I don't usually care if anyone doesn't share my opinion about a song but at the moment I just feel that anytime I post about this particular song I get quoted by Bre who goes on to slag it off. It's one thing for an opinion, but I kind of feel like mine is being 'stalked'. It's hard to explain and I'm probably being paranoid anyway.

Onto the business of awful no1s since Beautiful Girls-Leon Jackson anyone? Worst x factor single ever!

Worst single ever!

I wasn't trying to create an argument at all. Sorry about that. I did mention if you look back at my post that it doesn't make your opinion any less valid, so I don't have any "double standards" :s. It's just most people do express their like or dislike for a song but just not on so many occasions. I express my like for song maybe once, twice at the most. I'll join in with discussions on the song but I don't continually keep saying I like the song.

There is nothing wrong with anyone thinking a song is terrible or the worst #1 since whoever it's just it can grait at people (and particularly the baiting of T-boy which wasn't fair) when it is said like for instance "MLJ will be the worst #1 since "insert song name here"" and continually saying stuff like **** off MLJ/Maroon 5 etc. Nothing wrong with starting or ending those sentences with "I feel", "in my opinion" but sometimes it's said in a way that is portrayed as fact. Maybe that was what T-boy was referring to, without putting words in his/her mouth.

 I love that my name is apparently no indication of my gender!
